Local agency in Quebec that accepts pre-routing

Hello, Happy to see VoyageForum "back in action" again, and even though I know my post is a bit off-topic, I’ll give it a shot anyway: We’re a group of four looking to take an organized trip to Canada at the end of September/beginning of October 2025, starting from Quebec. These kinds of tours exist, but our main issue is that local agencies don’t handle pre-routing from France, which is a deal-breaker for us. Of course, we’re not at all opposed to traveling in a (small) group. Thanks for your replies and any leads you might have.

Hi, I don’t get why the fact that local agencies don’t handle pre-routing from France is a deal-breaker for you? Nothing’s stopping you from choosing a local "package trip" (like a self-drive tour) independently of your transatlantic flight. From what I understand, you already have some "leads" on local agencies—if you need, I can share a few addresses that French travelers love!

Hi everyone, thanks lescaribous, Here’s the deal: we had a really bad experience with pre-connections we bought ourselves. If you have a problem—like your flight is delayed, you miss part of your trip, and lose money—the agency takes zero responsibility and won’t help at all. The contract covers departures from your city on a package trip, and that works fine. This actually happened to us. To be even more specific, for Egypt, the local agency had an office in Paris, and there were no issues there. I think agencies are well aware of this problem. I’d really like to find a French agency if possible. Anyway, thanks a lot—I’m aware the site is down right now.

I’m not very familiar with Quebec agencies that offer organized tours in Quebec. Generally, pre-routing is included if you book with an agency in your home country, but not with destination agencies—I imagine there might be exceptions. An agency that’s bought a block of seats on the same flight will be less reluctant since they’ll have to handle rerouting everyone in case of a problem and can arrange directly with the carrier. For many Quebec agencies offering tours on another continent, the outbound flight is fixed for everyone (or there are only 2 itineraries).

At the end of the day, either you take the risk or the agency does it for you. So you can look for an agency that will (and charge you to assume that risk). Or you can organize yourself to mitigate the risk. If you arrive in Montreal (for example) 24 hours before your organized trip departs, you’ll have a day to settle in, and the risk will be greatly reduced. That doesn’t solve anything if you have to cancel everything—there are insurance policies for that.

Hi, I understand better now, but I agree with Barneyg’s suggestion to book the TLS-YUL-TLS flight independently of the tour! If you take, for example, a self-drive tour, you just plan to start the tour 3 days after your arrival. That’ll let you recover from jet lag while enjoying Montreal. Then you take the wheel (though a car in Montreal is pretty useless!!). Now, if you *really* want the flight to be "included" in the package, you’ll need to find an agency in Toulouse that offers Quebec tours! Happy planning

Check out Cris51's review—he's from Toulouse and used a Toulouse-based agency for his flight, hotel, and car package!
