bonjour,

Nous partons cet été faire un tour dans le sud de l'Angleterre en camping car, avec notamment un passage par Londres.

Qui aurait une bonne expérience dans un camping autour de Londres avec un accès aisé aux transports publics pour rejoindre le centre-ville? L'idéal serait de laisser le camping car au camping...

hello si vous cherchez un camping il y a deux site à canterbury avec une liaison ferroviaire pour londres- je conseille celui du camping and caravaning club qui est sur une ligne de bus pour rejoindre le centre ville et la station de train. pour un camping car je conseille de réserver pour être sur de trouver une place. Je le fréquente régulièrement depuis 1993 bon voyage

J'ai été au lee valley parce que le abbey wood était plein ( en été sans reservation). C'est très bien et le bus passe dans le camping puis rejoint le metro.

Mais il faut compter environ 1H de transport en commun pour rejoindre le centre.

Il y a l'option moins cher des parkings (payants et gardés) de Windsor puis le train (environ 45 minutes mais c'est loin donc cher). J'y ai dormis pour la visite de Windsor (mais je n'ai pas testé le train vers London)

merci à tous pour vos réponses.

Certains campings mentionnés sont dans la "low emission zone" de Londres, et comme je conduis un camping car diesel pas tout récent, je préfère éviter.

Du coup j'ai trouvé celui-là: Chertsey Camping and Caravanning club site. A côté de Windsor.

On verra si c'était un bon choix!

Your post is a bit old, but COVID happened in the meantime!!! Did you end up going to that campsite? What did you think of it? Did you go to London from that campsite? If so, how do you make the trip (bus, tube)? How long does the journey take? Thanks for your feedback.

This post was made some time ago, but I’m adding a few extra details here that might help future travelers.

From the Chertsey Camping and Caravanning Club Site, the easiest way to get to central London is by train.

Walk or take a taxi to Chertsey station (about 20 minutes).

Take a direct train to London Waterloo.

Journey takes around 1 hour.

Once at Waterloo, you’re already in the heart of London and can easily hop on the Tube or walk to Westminster, Soho, Covent Garden, etc.

You can pay with a contactless bank card or an Oyster Card.
