Bonjour nous partons 2 semaines en Egypte en juillet avec 2 adolescents. Faut il des vaccins spéciaux? Nous allons à Hurgada en mer Rouge. Qui y a t'il à visiter? Merci pour vos réponses !!!

Vaccins , a priori non sauf si tu as été il y a moins de 6 mois dans un pays ou il y a la Fievre jaune (mais ça c'est partout)
A visiter a Hurghada >>> rien, c'est une destination essentiellement plage/plongée, ou alors ce sera très loin Louxor , le Caire ... apres ils vont inventer des balades dans le désert+++

A ma connaissance pas de vol Hurghada / Louxor ( ou alors des charters pour les agences) il y a +/-350km Lorsque je suis allé a Hurghada les "visites" de Louxor se faisaient en bus ** avec départ très matinal et retour tres tardif et donc 4/5h de route dans chaque sens donc visite Louxor en mode TGV ... A EVITER ( je n'ai pas, fait ayant été a Louxor avant) En plus Louxor en plein mois de juillet en pleine journée ça doit être terrible au niveau température

Pour la personne qui partira à Hurghada : Cela ne change rien à la longueur du trajet ; une idée si vous décidiez de voir quand même quelque chose de la 'vraie' Egypte , ce serait de 'sacrifier' une de vos nuits à Hurghada et de faire la visite à Luxor en 2 jours ... : les hôtels ne sont guère chers . Le faire en avion est possible mais en faisant un détour par le Caire : en ajoutant le temps d'arrivée, l'escale et le départ, vous n'y gagneriez rien .

De Hurgadah vous pouvez visitez Louxor c'est 5 heure de route départ à 5h de matin ! arrivée à 10h et le retour au soire vers 23h ! et sur place vous visiterez karnak, la vallée des rois et le temple d'Hatshepsout.
Vous pouvez allez au Caire en avion 1 heure de vol et si vous allez en bus c'est 6 heure de route (450 km) pour une journée au Caire vous visiterez les Pyramides, le Sphinx, le musée égyptien et le marchée Khan El-Khalily et vous pouvez prendre le Go Bus ou El-Gouna 150 L.E par personne.

C'est du grand N'IMPORTE QUOI, la transmission de l'Hépatite B s'effectue au cours d'un contact direct ou indirect avec du sang infecté et entre autre par voie sexuelle cela n'a rien avoir avec l'hygiène

Je fais mon mea culpa car j'ai écrit B en pensant A bien sûr lié à l'eau et à l'alimentation.

Comme Pascasa, je vous recommande le vaccin contre l'hépatite A. Je crois qu'il est difficile à trouver seul (rupture régulière du stock?), mais il est vendu en combinaison avec la typhoïde (tyavax). On m'a recommandé de les faire. N'hésitez pas à passer des coups de fil aux pharmacie pour connaître le prix. Une pharmacie a voulu nous faire croire que le prix était fixe et imposé (annoncé 90€)... On l'a finalement trouvé à 62€ dans une pharmacie qui a accepté de nous donner son prix par téléphone (plusieurs ont refusé, tant pis pour elles !).
Pensez à le faire 3 semaines - un mois avant le départ (le temps d'être protégé).
Vérifiez que votre DT polio est à jour également.

Pour l'hépatite A et la typhoïde, comme je l'ai noté au début de ma réponse, j'ai dit qu'ils m'avaient été recommandés et non pas qu'ils étaient obligatoires. Rien n'est obligatoire spécifiquement pour l'Egypte.
Pour ce voyage, je me suis renseignée auprès d'un médecin, qui a beaucoup voyagé en particulier en Afrique, et qui s'occupe de la consultation des voyageurs. Il me l'a recommandé. Je suis médecin également, et j'avoue que pour en connaître les conséquences, je préfère prévenir que guérir, même si le risque est faible je suis parfaitement d'accord. Pour moi, c'est le même principe que les assurances, on en prend une "au cas où", et on peut être bien content de l'avoir en cas de pépin, même si le risque est faible.
Il est également bien noté partout que la vaccination ne remplace pas les règles d'hygiène élémentaire, que vous faites bien de rappeler.
Pour ce qui est du DT polio, la question n'est pas de savoir si c'est du luxe ou non puisqu'il s'agit d'une vaccination obligatoire en France. Il faut donc que la vaccination soit à jour. 😉

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?

I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question: Has anyone here had any experience with this? (Even if it’s a different medication or different countries, any input would be helpful!)

We’d like to know if there’s a real risk of Zika contamination on those islands, because from what we’ve found online, the recorded cases are old and come from the Sotavento Islands.
We’re thinking about canceling our trip.
If you’ve recently traveled to Cape Verde or live there, do you have any thoughts on this?

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...
Have any of you been in this situation before? How does it work at customs—do I need to declare everything that exceeds the 3-month limit? Do I need a letter from my doctors?

Bonjour ! Alors voilà, j'hésite à faire un long voyage. J'aimerais partir 2 voir 3 et voyager dans plusieurs continents. J'aimerais avoir quelques renseignements . Je fais souvent des allergies inexpliquées et je dois suivre un traitement quotidien pour soigner mon diabète (insuline). J'ai cru comprendre que je pouvais demander une autorisation à mon médecin pour voyager 6 mois avec le traitement c'est bien cela ? Est-il possible au bout des 6 mois (plutôt que d'embêter un proche à envoyer les médicaments) de se rendre chez un médecin étranger pour obtenir une autorisation de 6 mois de voyage à nouveau ? Comment cela se passe à l'aéroport ? A t-on besoin d'une seule autorisation de transport de médicaments ? Ou bien doit-on dans chaque pays (une fois le traitement écoulé) demander une autorisation de transport de médicaments pour l'avion et une DCI ? After years of traveling to the USA without any medical insurance subscriptions—and luckily never having any major health issues (though I did get a scorpion sting buried in the sand at CBSouth, 😇)—life has caught up with us, and we’re now being forced into "wisdom" and leaving our carefree days behind.
So, I’m looking for the best compromise for a 2-month health insurance plan. I’ve read the discussions on this topic, but the most recent one is from last year, and I’d love your take on the current situation. I’m familiar with the usual options like Europ Assistance and AXA, but I’ve just discovered Chapka and Heymondo (the latter seems interesting in terms of both price and coverage).
What do you think of these last two? How do they compare in terms of value for money against the bigger companies?

We’ve planned a 3-week trip to Bali this summer with our 7-year-old daughter. The itinerary includes Sanur, Nusa Lembongan, Sidemen, Amed, and Ubud. The more time passes, the more we read about people getting sick—some with mild to severe traveler’s diarrhea, and many ending up in the hospital. We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. Even though there’s no zero risk, and we’ll be careful, can any of you reassure me? Not everyone got sick, right? I’d love to hear positive feedback from parents, but not just them 😊.
