Hi there,
Your situation can unfortunately be explained by a specific point in Etihad’s policy.
Generally, a standard Business class ticket with Etihad does give access to the lounges in Abu Dhabi. However, since March 2025, “Business Value” tickets (entry-level fares) no longer include free lounge access. In this case, access becomes payable, and the $160 fee matches the on-site rates.
The first thing to check is your booking class on your e-ticket.
You can verify this directly on Etihad’s website via “Manage My Booking” using your reference. Etihad can confirm within minutes whether your ticket is “lounge eligible” or not.
Agencies like Go Voyages sometimes sell promotional “Business” fares without certain included benefits, and this is often where the confusion arises. The back-and-forth between the agency and the airline is unfortunately common.
If your ticket is indeed a standard eligible Business class, then the refusal isn’t normal.
If it’s a “Business Value” ticket, the paid access is unfortunately in line with the new policy.
This should already help clarify things for your return on March 12th.
