Une marche dans le Tigray avec équipage muletier

J’ai le projet de retourner dans le Tigray pour une marche d’environ 2/3 semaines. Le but est de vivre dans le milieu pastorale, avec un équipage muletier (donc en évitant le plus possible le 4X4). Il s’agit donc moins d’avaler des kms que d'être en contact avec le monde paysan au rythme des pas d'une mule. A ce jour, je n’ai pu trouver d’information sur les possibilités d’équipage muletier (à ma connaissance cette logistique qui existe dans le Simien n’est pas encore connue dans le Tigray). Aucune agence ne propose ce type de périple. J’ai déjà envoyé ce message...sans réponse, donc une nouvelle tentative. Bonne journée,

A ce jour, je n’ai pu trouver d’information sur les possibilités d’équipage muletier (à ma connaissance cette logistique qui existe dans le Simien n’est pas encore connue dans le Tigray). Aucune agence ne propose ce type de périple.

J'ai demandé à une agence: TESFA ils m'ont proposé un trek de 15 jours: départ du Simien( Sankaber) vers Lalibela ou Axum.. Mais déjà pour un trek moins long (8 jours ) ils me demandent plus de 1000 euros.

Descriptif:Here are the suggestion trekking itineraries detail from Gonder to Axum.

Day:1st-Gondar-SimienMountains

Drive from Gondar to sankaber (1st camp ,3250masl), on impressive land escape the north escarpment and the southern Wazla.you will most certainly see encounter troops of the endemic Gelada baboons which is only found in Ethiopia. And over night here at Sankaber. For the sack of acclimatization, the driver will drop you before the first camp so that you can have 2-3hrs walks, not only to get used to the altitude but also to enjoy both the view and the wild animals. This camp is also known by mule and mule handler availability. Meaning, here is the place to organize mule and mule man in order to transport your (the Group) rock suck, Food, Tents, Mattresses, Sleeping bags, Cooking gears and so on.

Day:2nd-Sankaber-Gich(2ndcamp,3600masl)

Walk from Sankaber to Gich via Jibar waterfall. During day this you have the opportunity to see brilliant views, which seems like Egyptian pyramids. Especially when you spot up from top down to the land. Really magnificent! I have been trekking hundreds of times and found it so fantastic. Not all for me but also most tourists get surprised about it. The time taken from Sankaber is about 5-6hrs walks, which is often depending on the speed of the trekkers. Over night at Gich camp.

Day: 3rd-Walk from Gich to Immmetgogo-

Which is one of the most spectacular place in the simien mountains, keep going to Cheneck via Enatiye and stay at cheneck (3rd camp, 3620masl).Gich and Cheneck are situated nearly on the same level of elevation. On this day the walk is relatively longer than the rest of the journey but different type of walking activities will be performed. The hike in this occasion is more like escarpment kind of hiking with breathtaking viewpoints. You will also get the chance to see the rare endemic or unique animal called Ethiopian wolf or Abyssinian wolf, having in mind that how luck you will be to see them. Time taken 7-8hrs and over night at Cheneck.

Day: 4th-morning climb to mount Buahit-

It is 4430 meter highs which is next to Ras-Dejen, During this day walk there would be possibilities or opportunities to see the endemic animals of Simien Mountain Got (Walia-Ibex) and you can see the highest mountain of Ethiopia Ras-Dejen on the sky distance. Then same day continues direct walk to camp Ambiko the place where you will camp over night, which is about 3250 meters highs time taken 9-10hrs.

Day: 5th - begins walk to climb Ras-Dejen early the morning with head light torch around 5:00am (European hrs) as you have information it is the highest mountain of Ethiopia, which is about 4543mtrs highs, after while on the summit of Ras-Dejen trek direct to Matiba Giorgies thorough on moor land grass areas time taken 10hrs over night camping at Matiba giorgies.

Day: 6th -from Matiba Giorgies trek to Luwarie time taken (6hrs) through a village Adisge that is available to see Ethiopian Wolf since it has covered with giant Festuca grass then over night at Luwarie.

Day: 7th- walk to Zehara forest camping areas through the village Bervie which is covered with dunce forest by Juniper Procera it is indigenes tree here in Ethiopia, time taken (6hrs) it has nice place to see Sun set on the late after noon with different bird prey, then over night at Zehara.

Day: 8th – begins trek from Zehara to Aveiera river where will going to start trek on the sandy soils, which is fabulous scenery through Gamcha villages then have good opportunity to get shower for wash with warm river water at the camp Aviera river covered with dunce forest, time taken (9:30-10:30).

Day: 9th – tack the real long distance trek by crossing the Tekeze river through Acacia tree with sand soils since it is a lower altitude then over night at Harza village, time taken (10-11hrs).

Day: 10th –walk through the village of Agew and Tigrians peoples with bright sandy soils, off course great for bird watching then over night on Tigrians village Worktarbie, time taken (9hrs). Day: 11th – begins the relax walk to small town Yechila time taken (4-5hrs) which is good to have warm showers at the hotels depend on the clients interest, off course it is available some drinks too just for relaxing.

Day: 12th –From Yechila walk to Giget which is a Muslim village through Gundagunde Mts that has possibility to see wild spotted Hyena closer like domestic ones in group, over night at Giget village time taken (8-9hrs).PS:From Yechila you have to possiblities drive with in tow days to Lalibela or to Mekele but if you are intersted to continues with trekk please read the under part....

Day: 13th –walk to Adikalh through nice land escape with mts adibegay then while trek, over night at Adikalh village tow kilometers farther plain areas time taken (7-8hrs).

Day: 14th –Trek to visit Derehaile rochewens of tigrians monastery church through Mts belavel then while walk back to Gudagude village with Anthalo lime stone then over night at Adiaflew on nice grass space areas, time taken (7hrs).

Day:15th –From Adiaflew walk to Chelekot small town through some bushes with farm land then over night at Chelekot time taken (6:30-7:30hrs).

Day: 16th – as end of the long tripe here in Chelekot since it has a road accesses our vehicle will picks the clients to Axum bout 4 hrs driving then tacking showers and lunch then visit the Stales. oad accesses our vehicle will picks the clients to Axum bout 4 hrs driving then tacking showers and lunch then visit the Stales.

Merci, ... mais ce périple est en partie dans le simien , je n'ai pas une vision claire du périple dans le Tigray, une carte serait la bienvenue , et je souhaite me cantonner au tigray sans véhicule. Michel

google maps, google earth donnent de très bonnes infos et en plus il y a des photos des lieux géolocalisés.
