Je suis à la recherche d'un hôtel simple mais propre ou d'un logement chez l'habitant :
- la nuit du 25 au 26 mars à AGADIR
- la nuit du 26 au 27 mars à TAFRAOUTE
- la nuit du 27 au 28 mars à AGADIR.
- la nuit du 28 au 29 mars à TAROUDANT.
Je suis toujours à la recherche aussi de l'horaire de bus qui ferait Agadir - Tafraoute (compagnie BALADI) et si le bus part d'Agadir même;
Quellle est la durée du trajet par AIT BAHA.
Si vous savez s'il y a une possibilité pour faire la vallée du miel et du paradis, autre que voiture privée, merci de me le signaler.

A Agadir, plein de petits hôtels à bons prix : Tiznine, Tamgoute, El Bahia, etc. (prix entre 100 et 200 dh/nuit)
Dans le même quartier Talborjt, des locations de studios ou appartements par une voisine marocaine. (prix d'un studio par exemple à 250 dh/jour, dégressif selon la durée). J'ai visité le studio, très bien, très propre.
Je pars moi aussi à tafraout fin mars et je me suis donc un peu penchée sur la question 😉.

Je ne sais pas si c'est fiable mais tu peux toujours telephoner pour verifier les horaires. A priori les bus font la route de nuit ce qui est vraiment dommage car la route via ait baba est vraiment magnifique.
Pour la durée du trajet 3h30 environ je crois...
Perso pour loger à tafraout j'ai choisis la maison traditionnelle à Oumesnat. C'est à qq km ( 8 je crois) mais ça à bonne réputation et d'apres ce que j'ai compris situé à l'entrée de la belle vallée des ameln.
Tu trouvera d'autres hotels sur le site si dessus et en cherchant un peu sur ce forum.
Cela ne correspond pas à ton planning actuel mais si tu en change:
Nous partirons de taroudant le 27 (ou 26...) mars vers tafraout. Nous pensons louer un taxis pour nous deux pour faire la route vers tafraout. On serait bien sur ravis de le partager ainsi que les frais 😉. A cela deux avantages: nous pourrons faire la route de jour, profiterons du paysage et pourrons faire qq arrets photos et visites comme par exemple à la Kasbah de Tizourgane. En plus on "économise" le temps du trajet taroudant agadir. On pense partir de Taroudant vers 9 à 10 heures et rendre le taxis vers 16h pour avoir le temps de faire la route tranquillement et éventuellement de visiter un peu le coin. On poussera même peut etre jusqu'à la vallée des Ait mansour pour passer la nuit là bas. Donc si un covoiturage t'intéresse n'hesite pas 🙂
Peux-tu m'en dire plus sur ton emploi du temps à partir de TAROUDANT. J'y serai le 26 mais je peux toutefois y être le 25 (venant de MARRAKECH).
Combien de temps comptes-tu faire le petit circuit?
As-tu une idée du prix du taxi? et de l'hôtel là-bas?

Départ vers Taroudant le 25. On fera la route de jour via le Tizi n'test en bus ou taxis collectif en fonction de ce que l'on va trouver. On se renseignera le 23 à la gare routiere.
26: farniante ou visite de taroudant. Ou encore location d'une voiture pour visite de la palmeraie de tioute entre autre.
Départ le 27 de taroudant vers tafraout de preference entre 8 et 10h. Route en prennant son temps (photos, visites). Plus pourquoi pas visite de la region de tafraoute (rochers peints). On a pas trop envie d'aller dans la vallee des ameln ce jour là car on y dormira deux nuits les 30 et 31 mars. Mais on peut peut etre modifier notre réservation si tu veux y passer....
On restera dans la region tafraout/ vallée des ameln/ gorge d'ait mansour jusqu'au 1er ou 2 mars. On rejoindra agadir en bus ou grand taxis collectif.
On peut tout décaller d'une journée et partir le 26 de taroudant mais cela ne nous arrange pas trop.
Pour le prix du taxis privé entre taroudant et tafraout « raoulx » m'a indiqué 500dh. Mais je pense que c'était pour une course simple le plus vite possible (soit en 3 heures environ je crois). Si on garde le taxis plus longtemps pour prendre son temps et pour les visites se sera plus cher.
Une voiture de location avec chauffeur coute environ 550dh la journée. Si on prends cette option il faudra ajouter le cout de l'essence aller retour. Je pense donc que dans tout les cas on en aura pas pour plus de 1000dhr la journée. C'est ma fouchette haute. Plus cher on acceptera pas on on fera le trajet en transport public via agadir.

J'y reste le 27 et le 28 jusque 21H.
J'ai renoncé à faire Tafraout car trop peu de temps et pas envie de courir; je reviens déjà d'un grand circuit en Inde!
Par contre, je prévois faire la palmeraie de Tiout mais tout à mon aise avec balade éventuelle à dos d'âne et petit guide pour explications.
Si cela vous dit, on peut faire cette excursion ensemble si vous êtes comme moi, émerveillé de tout et pas trop pressé. Je préconiserai de faire cette excursion le 28.
J'arrive à Marrakech le 22 également.
J'ai trouvé à me loger à l'hôtel ATLAS (paraît correct et pas cher). On verra sur place.

Je pense qu'effecitivement tu as raison d'annuler tafraout. C'était beaucoup de route pour peu de temps sur place.
On aurait beaucoup aimé faire la palmeraie avec toi car nous aussi on veut prendre notre temps 🙂 mais le 28 on sera dejà partit.
On a dejà fait plusieurs séjours à marrakech et deux jours nous semblent suffisant pour nous poser à l'arrivée.
Comment fais-tu le trajet Marrakech -taroudant? As tu les horaires de bus?
A Marrakech on pense louer les services d'un guide pour découvrir ce que l'on ne connait pas encore et ce que l'on n'a pas su voir ou trouver seul.
On veut notamment visiter les tombeaux saadiens que mon conjoint n'a jamais vu. On ira aussi à la découverte du souk Haddadine (ferronniers), et du souk des cuivres car bizarrement on ne les a jamais vu et qu'on aime beaucoup découvrir la façon de travailler des artisants. pour le reste on suivra eventuellement les conseils du guide. Si cela t'interresse.... Refaire des monuments qu'on connait déjà ne nous dérange pas car jusque là on a toujours tout fait sans guide.
Si tu veux, j'ai une proposition à te faire:
- le 23 matin, je prends le bus pour Amizmiz où un guide local que je connais m'attends. Nous allons faire une balade dans les petits bleds avoisinants (5 km
à pied) puis souper et logement chez l'habitant.
- Le 24: journée complète (8km à pied) avec arrêt à midi et le soir, souper et logement chez l'habitant ou rentrée sur Marrakech.
- Le 25, je prends ma journée sur Marrakech pour hammam et promenade; je connais très bien Marrakech.
- Le 26 à 12H45, je prends le bus pour Agadir suivi du bus pour Taroudant directement.
- La route de Tizni n test est, parait-il, très dangereuse surtout qu'il y a eu de très fortes pluies et très fatiguante (c'est pourquoi, j'ai renoncé aussi).
- Le 27 et le 28: Taroudant (on peut faire la palmeraie le 27 si tu veux)
- Le 28 à 21H: départ pour Agadir
- Le 29: Agadir - départ 18H.
Le prix pour le petit circuit est de 6 euros la nuit chez l'habitant, 1 euros le petit déj, 5 euros le souper du soir et 40 EUROS pour le guide à partager.
Sans obligation aucune. Juste savoir.

On aime bien voyager seul mais un peu de compagnie permet de découvrir d'autres choses 🙂.
Plusieurs questions avant de se décider:
La rando c'est de la ballade tranquille (au sens francais du terme, pas marocain!) ou bien c'est peu de km mais avec un dénivelle positif de 1200m (parceque j'ai fais de la rando en montagne avec un guide marocain et on en a bavés!!! en plus c'était plutot dangereux par moment...).
On est pas trop vieux, en bonne santé mais pas sportif et ca fait un bon bout de temps qu'on a même pas marché....
15-20km à plat en bord de cote (là ou on habite) ca va mais dès que ca grippe mon conjoint est tres essouflé et a un peu de mal à suivre. Donc meme s'il y a peu de km, s'il y a un dénivellé important, ce ne sera pas possible. Par contre à plat ou presque on marche bien 🙂.
As -tu une idée de l'heure de ton départ de marrakech le matin? Environ une heure de bus c'est ça?
Va t-on deposer les bagages qqpart ou les porter pendant la rando?
On ne connait pas du tout cette région. Est-ce que c'est haut en altitude? (on avait laissé tomber Imlil car trop haut et donc froid à cette epoque de l'année) . Temperature beaucoup plus basse qu'à marrakech ou equivalente à ton avis?
Pour la route du Tizi'n-test... ca fait longtemps que j'ai envie de la faire. Je ne sais pas trop dans quel état les pluies on laissé la route mais j'ai vu des temoignages sur ce forum de personnes y étant passées recemment sans problème. Cependant on ne la prendra pas en taxis car ils roulent comme des fous. On passera par là que si on trouve un bus. A priori la route est dangereuse mais il y a assez peu de circulation ce qui fait que ce n'est pas pire que n'importe quelle route de montagne je crois. (J'ai fait la route agadir-tafraout via ait-baba en mini bus et il ne fallait pas avoir le vertige non plus!!)
La route via agadir est sans aucun doute plus tranquille en plus tu pourras avoir un bus type CTM donc plus de confort. Il me semble que tu peux trouver un direct marrakech-taroudant (Supra tour peut etre) via la route direction agadir mais qui bifurque avant. cela te ferait sans doute ganger du temps. A vérifier cependant, je n'ai jamais fais cette route.
Un dernier détail de taille....
Habituellement on dors à marrakech ds des petits hotel de la medina choisis en arrivant. Pour une fois, aillant un budjet moins reduit on a voulu tenter les riads. On a dejà reservé et payé les nuits du 22 et 23 mars..... C'est pas de chance car pour notre voyage de 13jours on a reservé que 5 nuits et payé que ces deux là!!
On peut peut-etre changer la réservation... je vais poser la question. Malheureusement ce riad est tres coté et se remplis tres vite j'ai donc assez peu d'espoir...
A moins que de ton coté tu acceptes (et tu puisses) décaller ton programme et faire farniante à marrakech le 23 et départ le 24....

Voilà, je t'en dis un peu plus sur le petit circuit.
23 - départ vers 10H30 pour arriver vers midi, manger (petit resto local) puis départ vers 14H30-15H pour petite balade au village d'amizmiz : marche qui nous emmeneras a tafeghart un petit douar a environ 2km d'amizmiz(nuité chez l'habitant). Ce sera un parcours d'environ 4 km au total. Il n'y a pas de gros dénivellé car je l'ai demandé avec toi car je ne suis pas une sportive non plus, juste
une marcheuse de voyage.
24 - petit déjeuner chez l'habitant puis marche tout au long de la falaise vers sidi hssain; repas de midi au resto local à 13h ; à
15h reprise de marche tout au long de la valleé d'anouggal jusqu'a asgoun; souper chez l'habitant; ce jour sera fait de 7 à 8 km/
J'ai rencontré ce guide lors d'une visite à Amizmiz avec mon compagnon; il semble très intéressant, très sensible à la faune, et est guide de montagne aussi.
Pour 1O € par jour, on peut avoir un âne pour mettre les bagages.
On peut aussi avoir un cuisinier pour les deux jours qui nous cuisinerait en pleine nature pour 20 € par jour, nourriture en sus.
J'avais dû décliner cette offre car seule, ça m'engageait à trop de frais. Maintenant, si ça vous intéresse, les frais seraient à couper en trois donc très accessibles.
Surtout , c'est dépaysant et local ; donc à ne pas prendre sur le thème "randonnée" au sens large mais balade calme à la découverte de la nature et de la vie locale.
Je loge dans un charmant petit hôtel près de la médina, très propre, très sympa ; c'est toujours là que je vais depuis un moment. 22 € la double avec SDB et toilette et moins cher avec SDB Commune (très propres également). Voici toujours l'adresse au cas où: faouzi_hôtel@live.fr
tu peux dire que tu viens de ma part. Cet hôtel acceptera de garder les bagages pendant le circuit si tu repasses une dernière nuit chez eux après le circuit; je le fais toujours.
Moi, je peux décaler un peu c'est à dire départ le 24 à 10H30 + Journée du 25 le circuit de 8 km mais alors je reviendrais sur Marrakech le 25 au soir avec le bus pour quand même garder mon programme qui suit, c'est à dire départ du 26 à 12H45 avec supratours pour agadir puis taroudant. Et vous alors, au choix de rester loger chez l'habitant et revenir le 27 matin ou de revenir sur Marrakech.
Voilà dis moi au plus vite ce qu'il en est afin que je puisse prévenir le guide et reprendre une nuit d'hôtel du 23 au 24.

That’s a lot of cities.
Probably a bit too many for our taste—we usually prefer more isolated spots...
So I’m looking for tips on little backroads, secluded beaches, half-day hikes, and offbeat places.
If you’ve also got recommendations for accommodation... (We’re open to splurging over 100 € if it’s a real favorite.)

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

Even though I come to Morocco four times a year, it’s been a long time since I’ve made the trip by car. I need to refresh my knowledge! I’ll be traveling in early October. I have a car that’s about 20 years old. The plan is to cross via Algeciras/Ceuta.

1) Does this crossing still exist? If so, do I need to buy the ticket in advance or on the spot? From whom? Any advice is welcome!

Day 1-2: Explore the city center, hike around Cap Spartel...
Day 3: Stop in Tetouan
Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains
Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!)
Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

We’re thinking of renting 3 cars. We’ve seen really low prices online, but often without insurance.
👉 Do you have any reliable contacts or personal experiences to share?
👉 Would you recommend getting specific “tourist” insurance?
🏛️ Visits – Bahia Palace & Saadian Tombs
We’d like to visit the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs, but:
We can’t find single tickets online
We only see guided tours with fixed times (like 9:30 AM / 4-hour tours)
👉 Do you know if it’s possible to book without a guide?
👉 Or do we have to buy tickets on-site? (We’re a little worried about crowds and lines, especially with older folks in the group.)
🍽️ Restaurants / meals
We’ve spotted the Grand Bazaar Marrakech for a meal.

Unfortunately, we won’t have time to visit Essaouira, as we’re heading south toward the Valley of the Roses...
Do you know of any places around Marrakech, Ouarzazate, or Kelaat M’Gouna where we might have the chance to meet Gnawa musicians?
We’ll also be staying a few days in Aït Benhaddou and Skoura during our trip toward the Dadès Valley.

Mid-May: arriving alone (so, a "petit taxi"?) at Marrakech airport around 4:30 PM,
is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)?
I think I’ve seen lower fares elsewhere (12 €?).

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.
Day 1: Arrival in Hurghada in the evening
Day 2, 3, 4: Hurghada
Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon
Day 8, 9, 10, 11: Hurghada
Day 12: Return flight
For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
During the stay, we’re planning activities like camel rides, quad biking, jeep tours, snorkeling, and jet skiing.

Hi everyone, just back from the 8-day Marrakech-Merzouga loop by car, and I’d love to share my feedback in case it helps some of you. Big thanks to all the forum members who kindly answered my questions!
Trip from Friday the 20th to Saturday the 28th, flying out of Marseille with Ryanair
- Landed late around 8 PM local time, exchanged some currency, and the rental agency (Magdaz Car, which I highly recommend) delivered the car straight to the airport with some great route tips (don’t blindly trust Maps.me). The night drive was a bit intense—lots of people out and about due to Ramadan. Stayed at Riad Midhou (really nice) on the outskirts of the city, which made it easy to hit the road the next morning.
- Day 1: Marrakech to Skoura. The drive was smooth, roads are great, but watch out for roundabout priority—it’s different from France. Beautiful route. Quick stop in Ouarzazate for lunch, Ait Benhaddou for the view (stunning), and the Fint Oasis (meh...). Spent the night at Taloute Ecolodge in Skoura, overlooking the palm grove (super cozy).
- Day 2: Skoura to Todgha Gorges via the Valley of Roses and Dades Gorges.
Adventure-packed day! We crossed the Valley of Roses (pretty, but not as amazing as I’d hoped) and took a "shortcut" recommended by the *Routard* guide to reach the Dades Gorges without backtracking. After asking locals, they said, "It’s doable." Turns out it was a narrow, rocky cliffside track—no way to turn around! A stressful moment, with a nice scratch on the bumper and a good sweat. Fine in an SUV or 4x4, but not in a Logan... Then the Dades Gorges (nice) and a detour through the north to reach Todgha from above. Gorgeous mountain road and a quick stop on some snow patches—touching African snow! Spent the night at *Les Gorges de Todgha*—great place, except for the bathroom. The Todgha Gorges themselves are stunning!
Day 3: Todgha to Merzouga. Beautiful drive, and the view of the erg (sand dunes) on arrival is breathtaking! Totally worth the trip. Explored the desert and stayed at *Café du Sud* hotel just outside Merzouga—absolutely gorgeous.
Day 4: Merzouga. Desert exploration and chilling by the hotel pool (with a bonus sunburn). Lunch in Merzouga—I recommend *Dakar*—their lemon tajine was amazing. Spent the night in the hotel’s luxury camp, including a camel ride. The camp was beautiful, but I was disappointed we weren’t deeper in the desert given the price (100 € per person, including dinner, breakfast, and camel ride).
Day 5: Merzouga to Tamnougalt. Gorgeous route. First fine (a supposed stop sign...) but the officer was super nice—only 150 MAD. Stayed at *Kasbah Maktob*, right in the middle of ruins—really unique and beautiful!
Day 6: Tamnougalt to Marrakech. Another beautiful drive, and a second fine (minor speeding), same amount. Crossed a windy mountain pass during a big storm—traffic was blocked in the opposite direction (not sure why), causing massive jams for those coming from Marrakech. A few downed cables, but nothing serious. Arriving in Marrakech was tricky—hard to find the rental agency, and the traffic was intense (watch out for GPS trying to send you through the medina). Ask the rental company to meet you somewhere quiet. They didn’t even notice the damaged bumper... Stayed at *Riad Zifamo* in the heart of the medina. Big change of pace—so many people and so much hustle!
Day 7: Marrakech. Lots of wandering through the souk and a quick trip to Gueliz (not essential). A few tips for the medina: watch out for scooters weaving too fast, always negotiate prices (aim for at least 1/3 off what they ask, unless it’s a small amount), don’t buy spices—more expensive than in France! Head to the *Carrefour Market* in Gueliz for better prices. In the end, not many truly unique items—you’ll find more or less the same things everywhere.
Day 8: Early morning flight. We’d booked a car to the airport from the riad, but a taxi would’ve been fine—plenty available even at 7 AM. Security wasn’t an issue (we had lighters and liquids over 100 ml).
A few extra notes: Pleasantly surprised by the road quality—just a few potholes here and there, but overall very drivable. Watch out for the police—they’re everywhere! The car cost me 30 € per day (with the *Routard* discount) and about 90 € in gas. No safety concerns, no harassment, and no stomach issues, despite the ice in Marrakech. Breakfasts at the hotels were usually hearty—take advantage! The timing (end of February) was perfect—pleasant daytime temps and cool nights. Since it was Ramadan, nothing unusual to report, except it was hard to find food outside Marrakech at lunchtime.
If I did it again, Merzouga is a must, but I’d spend a night in a real desert bivouac, deeper in the dunes. My stops (no more than 300 km a day) were well-paced, and with so few cars on the road, it wasn’t tiring—even though I’m not usually a fan of driving...
