It’s still nice, especially for first-time visitors to Morocco.
Seriously. You’ll find quads, camels, caidal tents, pools… and the Atlas Mountains right in front of you.For a dinner-show evening, head to Jad Mahaal.
Or in the old medina, Palais Dar Essalem is stunning but very touristy and way too noisy for my taste.Take a trip to Lake Lalla Takerskout. You’ll easily find a restaurant there.

No address for Agafay because I explored the site in my own 4x4 without any organization.Huge fan... but even more so of Fezzan or Murzuk (though that’s *much* farther away!).
Still, I get the appeal—it’s easy to spend a day or an evening there.
I’m sure your friends will love it. Isn’t that the whole point?

Hi everyone, and thanks again for the enthusiasm on this thread—I’m racking up my 5-star Moroccan guide points! Random thoughts, not in order:- I’m not planning to use the car except for excursions. The villa offers a shuttle service into town (though I haven’t sorted out the details yet). I rented it for the week because it costs the same as 2 or 3 days, and it’ll keep things stress-free...- The Argan Cooperative—with 8 ladies in the group, I’m all in! Seriously, I’d considered stopping there on the way to Essaouira for a break. If you’ve got a great tip, please share! I’ve got a morning set aside for "crafts" (tannery, pottery...), so go wild with suggestions!- Agafay is on the itinerary; I just need to find the right provider. But I’m also counting on the villa manager to point me in the right direction.- The horse-drawn carriage ride won’t be in the road book , but you never know—last-minute surprises might happen!! A little suspense and spontaneity won’t hurt - Olivier, I’m not sure I’ll go all the way up there just for argan, but if you’ve got something closer, I’m in!

I thought argan trees were only found around Agadir and Taroudant, roughly speaking. It surprises me to see them at higher altitudes.
