A cet effet, j'ai enlevé mes papiers du contrôle des habitants en annonçant mon départ du pays, ce qui me permet de ne plus payer le prix exhorbitant de mon assurance maladie. Le souci, c'est que je n'arrive pas à trouver une assurance voyages qui n'agisse pas simplement en complément de l'assurance maladie de base (par exemple Elvia, Livret ETI, etc.). Il faut être assuré en Suisse pour pouvoir souscrire à ces assurances.
En gros, je cherche ça http://www.roundtheworldinsurance.co.uk/ mais avec possibilité d'y souscrire pour les suisses (ils n'acceptent que les ressortissants de l'UE). Pouvez-vous m'aider?

Je pensais m'inscrire à la REGA. Je les ai appelé mais ils l'ont pas pu me répondre face à la situation suivante : il m'arrive un truc moche, je suis rapatriée, je dépose mes papiers en suisse et suis donc assurée d'office dès la date où je dépose mes papiers. Mais est-ce que les assurances peuvent refuser de payer les frais si la maladie ou l'accident est arrivé AVANT l'inscription à l'assurance?
Et toi tu as opté pour l'assurance Marco Polo?
Je me demande également (en bonne suissesse prévoyante) ce qu'il advient du 2ème pilier et de l'AVS? Clairement, je ne cotiserai plus pour le 2ème pilier, y a-t-il des conséquences à ce "trou" sur le long terme?
Et concernant l'AVS, j'étais dans l'idée de continuer à cotiser le minimum, car il me semble qu'à ce niveau-là, il est clairement désavantageux de ne pas la payer.
Mais peut-on cotiser quand on est plus en Suisse?

Pour l'AVS, si j'ai bien compris ce qu'on m'a expliqué, il faut 44 ans de cotisation pour avoir la rente complète. Si vous avez commencé à cotiser à 18 ans, cela laisse une petite marge jusqu'à 64-65 ans...
On m'a dit également qu'en ayant cotisé sur un salaire de l'ordre de 5'000.-- frs annuel (le chiffre exact donné était inférieur, mais je ne m'en souviens pas), toute l'année comptait. Si vous partez par ex. d'avril 2012 à avril 2014, que vous avez gagné 5'000 frs en tout au minimum entre janvier 2012 et mars 2012 et également 5'000 frs entre mai 2014 et décembre 2014, vous ne perdez donc que l'année civile 2013.

J'habite également en Suisse et je fais un tour du monde d'une année. Pour info, je suis parti en Mai 2011 et je suis actuellement en Polynésie française 😉
Voici quelques infos pour l'administration :
Papier : Si tu pars plus d'une année, tu ne pourras pas laisser tes papiers en Suisse. Si tu n'a pas d'adresse fixe à l'étranger, ta commune enverra tes papiers dans ta commune d'origine. Ceci à pour conséquence de ne plus pouvoir être couvert par l'assurance de base. Tu ne peux également plus souscrire une assurance RC ou vol simple auprès d'une compagnie suisse. (en principe, je n'ai pas fait toutes les compagnies d'assurance....)
Tu devras être à jour dans tes impôts et faire une demande de congé auprès de l'armée si tu es incorporée, ça concerne plutôt les hommes....
AVS : Il te faut cotiser le minimum pour ne pas perdre trop d'argent à ta retraite. 2012 c'est bon car tu es là six mois, il y aura uniquement 2013 à payer environ CHF 500.-- c'est à toi de faire la démarche. En principe tu peux faire ça en 2014 en rentrant. Ecris un petit email à ta caisse de compensation pour avoir une réponse écrite...
2ème et 3ème pilier : En principe pas de problème, si tu souhaite rattraper tu as 5 ans...
Pour les assurances, à mon avis Avi international est bien, la REGA je ne sais pas si tu peux car tu n'as plus tes papiers. Dès ton retour en Suisse, tu as un mois pour souscrire une assurance de base. Par exemple, si tu rentre le 15 juin, tu as jusqu'au 14 juillet pour t'assurer et tu sera couvert avec effet rétroactif au 15 juin, donc pas de souci. Demande également une réponse écrite auprès d'une assurance car cela change souvent...
Moi, personnellement j'ai laissé mes papiers en Suisse car cela me permettait de payer moins d'impôts, l'économie était plus grande que le coût de l'assurance de base. C'est souvent le cas lorsqu'on part en milieu d'année.
Julien part en Janvier donc cela ne change rien pour lui.
A l'étranger, si tu as des petits bobo, cela ne coûte pas trop cher, c'est surtout pour le rapatriement qu'il faut être couvert....

J'ai prévu de rencontrer un assureur pour éclaircir un peu les choix que j'ai au niveau des assurances, mais effectivement, AVI semble pas mal. La REGA n'est pas une assurance, tu es considéré comme donateur, donc il suffit d'être suisse je crois, peu importe où tu vis!

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...
