Voila avec un amis nous avons decidé de tenter l'aventure en faisant France Istanbul , avec comme intention particulière de bien visiter la croatie et la Grece de fond en comble en deux mois . Le voyage aller retour ne sera que en moto en passant un maximum par les petite routes . Nous voudrions traverser l'Italie , la Slovénie , Croatie , Bosnie , Serbie, Macedoine Grece et Turquie . Sachant que nous fairons le meme passage au retour mais genre a l'aller nous passerions plutot par l'ouest de chaques pays , et au retour plutot par l'est .
J'avais cependant quelques questions a vous soumettre puisque c'est la premiere fois que je vais tenter un voyage aussi long . Nous voudrions plutot faire le systeme camping avec un séjour a l'hotel toute les semaines au moins . Mais pour ce qui est du camping , d'abord si certains d'entre vous pourrait un peut m'expliquer combien coute et comment fonctionne le systeme des campings dans ce genre de pays . Si jamais il était possible de camper en pleine nature . J'ai aussi beaucoup entendu parlé de dormir chez l'habitant mais comment vous y prenniez vous et combien vous leur laissiez pour une nuit ?
Aussi pour ce qui est du trajet nous utiliserons vraissemblablement des cartes routieres , mais vous quelle genre cartes utilisez vous ? quelle echelle ? et ou vous les fournissiez vous .
Et enfin , nous comptons faire le trajet en 125 cc Honda XLS ( Histoire de ne pas partir a l'aventure qu'a moitié ), qui aura bien sur subis une révision au prealable . Trouvé vous cela exagéré de tenter l'aventure avec une si vieille moto meme si elle est en parfaite etat ? Puis une question que je me pose juste comme ça , ce serait de faire ce trajet , mais a deux sur une 125 XLS ? pensez vous que cela soit réalisable ? Cette derniere question est plus a titre informatif . Nous ne comptons pas faire plus 400 km au grand maximum par jour . ( cela dépendra des étapes ) .
Sacré projet, réalisable mais ambitieux ! A deux + bagages sur ta honda 125 XLS, j'ai bien peur que cela soit difficile et plein d'embuches. (l'un de vous deux connait-il un peu la mécanique et le bricolage ?)
Pour ce qui est du camping, je ne connais pas grand chose du sujet. Je ne sais pas si le camping sauvage est autorisé, mais je suis persuadée que tu trouveras des endroits très tentants ou planter ta tente. Difficile de résister dans ce cas !!!
Pour loger chez l'habitant, ou dresser ta tente dans un jardin, tu peux toujours jetter un oeil sur le site de www.couchsurfing.org
Tu deviens membre et tu contactes les personnes qui habitent dans les régions que tu va traverser.
ATTENTION : couchsurfing n'est pas le pendant d'un hôtel, ce système convient uniquement aux personnes qui aiment aller à la rencontre de l'autre et CERTAINEMENT pas à ceux qui cherchent un logement gratuit.
Je te souhaite bonne change, le projet est un peu fou, mais attirant.

Bin en faite pour ce qui est du nombre de moto ce n'est pas un problème pour moi puisque j'ai la mienne . Mais pour le copain en question disons qu' il y a beaucoup de personne qui sont partante pour ce genre de projet mais qui bizarrement a la dernière minute bin .. financement ... Danger et autre .. ne viennent pas . Donc moi dans tous les cas je partirais , ensuite lui je prepare la pire des situations ! a savoir lui proposer a deux sur ma moto si c'est faisable . Pour ce qui est de la mécanique je m'en sort assez bien , sans etre toutefois un proffessionnel .Specialement sur ce model la . Mais bon mes connaissances mécanique sans reel outillage si problème moteur sur place ne m'aideront pas beaucoup ( pour répondre a Marie ) . Mes connaissances ne peuvent que m'aider a préparer cette moto comme il se doit avec l'evidente presence d'esprit de respecter cette regle pour les vieilles moto ( qui veut voyager loin , ménage sa monture ) .
Pour la période ce sera bien evidement entre juin et mis septembre pas de cette année . Je souhaite partir a l'aventure mais pas non plus etre inconscient donc je prend le temps de bien me renseigner . Et c'est vrai que question logement , carte routiere ... bin c'est mieu de savoir un peu comment s'y prendre tous de meme !
C'est tout à fait possible, mais difficile à deux + bagages avec une seule moto 125. Voilà deux photos d'un voyage camping de deux semaines en Corse avec ma Yamaha YBR 125, un peu plus de 2.000 kilomètres. Un petit conseil : pas plus de 200 kilomètres par jour pour un si long voyage.

Donc si un soucis mecanique , et qu'on est dans le coin...(je part avec un pote qui roule en harley.. (les réparations sur le bord de la route ca le connait...lol). Mais en general tt ce passe supert bien et gens sont tres cool... plus qu'en france.(on a des lecons a prendre)

Cet été je suis allé à Istanbul à moto et en rentrant, nous sommes passés rapidement par la Hongrie, c'était franchement très agréable et Budapest est une très jolie ville, je pense que le pays (et il n'est pas le seul !) mérite un peu plus de temps que je n'en avais à y consacrer... à conseiller !

Très marrant ton message : on est parti le 31 août de Paris en 125 (Suzuki VanVan) et nous venons d'arriver à Istanbul. Nous sommes aussi 2 sur la moto et effectivement, on a eu pas mal d'avis négatifs là-dessus avant de partir. Pour l'instant ca va bien ! On est allé plus vite que toi parce que nous, nous avons pour objectif Sydney en 6 mois (voire un peu plus)
Bref question logement, nous avons effectivement beaucoup fait de camping au début, c'est moins cher (environ 20 euros par nuit quand même) A partir de la Croatie, les Guest House sont de légion (à peu près le même tarif tout de même)
Sinon effectivement, il faut plus tabler en moyenne sur du 200 km par jour sinon c'est infernal (on a fait quelques étapes à plus de 300 mais rarement)
Question mécanique, nous ne sommes pas non plus des caïds mais pour l'instant on n'a pas eu de gros problèmes (à part une chute qui a nécessité l'aide d'un mécanicien) et on a pris quelques "cours" avant de partir...
Pour les cartes, on est parti avec rien du tout. Au départ en France c'était du Google Map qu'on imprimait. Sinon on achète nos cartes au fur et à mesure (tu vas voir, il faut vraiment que tu limites ton chargement au strict nécessaire)

Comment as tu fais pour toute la bagagerie ? moi j'aurais bien été motivé pour me faire genre des bagages lateraux mais j'ai peur qu'on me les pique quand je visiterai un endroit , malgre le cadenas je doute que ça en arrete plus d'un . puis si on te les piques , la tu es vraiment mal . ne vaudrait-il pas mieux un grand sac a dos qui serait couché sur la selle quand on roule et sur le dos pour les visites ? d'accord c'est un peu contraignant pour les visites mais au moins tu ne risques pas de dormir sans rien des fois que tu te ferai tous piquer en Turquie ou je ne sais ou . non ?
Aussi tu n'as pas eu de probleme avec ta moto niveau mécanique ? ou alors des reproches généraux a lui faire ?

I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?

I just realized I’ve been registered on VoyageForum since... March 28, 2012 😊. Yet, I’ve barely participated until now.
August 1, 2026, will mark a somewhat special milestone: 5 years on the road.
We left Switzerland on August 1, 2021 with a simple idea: let chance decide our direction. We placed a bottle of wine on a world map, spun it... and it chose our first destination.
A year later, when we arrived in Morocco, we faced a new choice: continue toward Africa or head to Asia. This time, a tarot card game made the decision. Since then, we’ve tried to keep this journey as open to the unexpected as possible.
Today, that adds up to about 120,000 km, 46 countries, and over 1,800 days on the road—mostly by motorcycle, but also by sailboat, train, bus, hitchhiking, or on foot when adventure calls.
Our guiding thread isn’t just the motorcycle, but service exchanges. Instead of simply passing through countries, we try to stop regularly to lend a hand to the people we meet. So far, that’s about 600 days of volunteering.
Over the years, we’ve:
renovated a house in Croatia
made earth bricks in the Moroccan desert
helped sail a boat through the Greek islands
looked after houses, dogs, horses, a camel... and lots of other animals
worked at a street art festival in Morocco
created videos for local associations and projects
worked the grape harvest on the Tibetan plateau
been accredited as "media" for the World Nomad Games in Central Asia
Some of the moments that have stuck with us the most include six months in China, a night spent on the Great Wall, the Pamir Highway, the Silk Road, three months in Taiwan, and the incredible encounters in the mountains of Central Asia.
We travel on Falkor, our lucky dragon—a 2014 BMW F800GS that’s been with us since the start and is starting to have some great stories of its own.
While we share our adventure on Instagram, Polarsteps, and YouTube, that’s not why we’re here. The forum’s rules about promotion are clear, and I totally get them. If I’m finally taking the time to write, it’s mostly because after five years on the road, I thought our experience might be useful to other travelers.

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.

Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:

Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)

Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
