Thanks for sharing your experiences and tips for a trip to Corsica in May-June 2025.
Best regards,
Hi everyone, I’m planning a trip from mid-January to the end of February but I just can’t make up my mind 😕
I’ve looked into a few different options: Brazil, Cambodia, and Ecuador. The last one really appeals to me, but what’s making me hesitate is the risk of our trip being a bit too rainy (literally ),
We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!
Can anyone help me make up my mind or decide to postpone it for later? But for this year, I don’t have any other time slot to travel. Thanks for reading this far! !
hi
It seems that in recent years, January and February in Bohol have seen an increase in rainy periods. Have any of you noticed this?
Thanks in advance for your replies
Hi,
We’re planning a trip to Nosy Be from March 14th to 29th. I saw on the "Where and When to Go" site that the weather isn’t great then—has anyone been to this part of Madagascar during this period? Does it rain a lot? Thanks so much for your help!
Hi there,
We're planning a trip to Vietnam in January 2025. As I start mapping out the itinerary, I see it’s not the ideal season for the north—we might run into a lot of fog. What do you think? Thanks in advance for shedding some light on this!
What would be the ideal time to travel to northern Laos without it being too cold or too hot, and to enjoy the landscapes with green rice paddies and water? We love photography, hiking, and meeting people.
We’re considering April/May—is that a good choice?
Hi everyone,
The topic has already been discussed, but it was about ten years ago (I haven’t seen any more recent replies).
We’re planning to visit Vietnam for the first time from February 21 to March 7, 2025, most likely... We were thinking of exploring the central and northern regions. However, we’ve read a lot of conflicting things about the weather in the North, like Hanoi, at this time of year: “it’s quite nice, around 20-22°C” or “it’s cold, bring socks and a sweater.” But we were hoping to escape winter for a couple of months in a warm place... What do you think—those of you who live there or visit regularly?
If it’s better to focus on the Central and Southern regions during these same dates, what shouldn’t we miss?
Thanks in advance to the community!
Best regards,
Bernard
I'm planning a 10-day trip to Tenerife to go hiking in February. Is the weather decent without too much fog at this time of year? Is an excursion to Teide National Park doable?
Thanks for your replies.
Hi there,
What’s the best month to visit Bali—September or October?
We’d like to do some snorkeling in addition to sightseeing.
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
So great to be back on this forum after being away for—I don’t even know what!
I’m planning a trip to Malaysia in July with my 5-year-old son. The thing is, I’m not sure which coast to choose. AI keeps telling me east one minute and west the next. Which spot is least affected by rain during this time?
Thanks a bunch

Hi,
We're planning to go to the Balearic Islands in a camper van in January. We're looking for great tips for the ferry crossing: Sète or Barcelona? Is the weather nice in January? Are 20 days enough? Is wild camping allowed? Are there service areas?
Thanks for your info.
Have a nice day,
Michel
Hi there,
I’m heading to Chile for 3 weeks starting May 1st.
I can’t seem to find reliable info about the weather in May in the southern areas (Lake District and Patagonia).
Do you think some sites are still doable without too much rain at that time?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! 😊

Hi everyone,
We’re a family of four—two adults with two kids aged 4 and 7—about to embark on a year-long round-the-world trip in a camper van. I’m currently planning the Asia leg, which should last about 6 months. We’ll arrive in Thailand in January, head north, then move on to Laos. Ideally, we’d continue to Vietnam, Cambodia, and then return to Thailand to head south into Malaysia. If the budget allows, we’d love to include China and Japan. The big question after lots of research is: how easy is it to temporarily import a vehicle into these countries? The info I’ve found is outdated (2019–2020), and given how quickly regulations change, I’d love to hear from anyone currently (or recently) traveling in these countries with their vehicle. I’ve read that you need a local guide in Vietnam, local license plates in China, and that importing a vehicle into China is quite complicated—are these rules still in place? More generally, is there a recommended route for this part of the world with a camper van?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there. On my itinerary from São Luís to Jericoacoara, I’ll be passing through the Lençóis. Is there any point stopping there this time of year? Apparently, the lagoons are dry, but aside from the lagoons, is the surrounding landscape still interesting enough to warrant a 1- or 2-day stop? Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm planning to drive to the UAE by road, going through Iraq. Has anyone done this and can give me some info? Specifically about the border crossings Turkey/Iraq and Iraq/Kuwait.
hi,
I’m planning a trip to Albania in a camper van, most likely between May, June, and early July (2027), for about 60 days. On the way down, I’ll go as far as Bari (or Brindisi) and cross by ferry, and on the way back, I’ll go through the former Yugoslavia (or maybe take the return ferry?).
Has anyone been there recently? What are the roads like, the must-see spots, and any general tips you can share?
There’ll probably be two of us traveling together.
Thanks
We’d like to go to Morocco for the first time at the end of November or beginning of December in our camper van! 😊
Looking for someone to share the road and the crossing with, and head down to Agadir. We’re in no rush—we love seeing beautiful things. Retirement suits us just fine! Couple in our mid-60s. ;)
Hi there, I’m planning a trip to Thailand from October 16 to 29, 2025, with my two teens.
We’d love to explore Southern Thailand (for the beaches...).
I’ve read that it’s the end of the rainy season—do you think it’s a bad idea or not?
Also, I’m familiar with traffic in Asian countries—it’s pretty challenging.
Do you think I should go through an agency for a well-defined itinerary?
Or do you have any tips for hotels and getting around?
Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks in advance! 😊

Hi there,
I’m looking to travel outside Europe in September, and my first thought was to return to Thailand. Unfortunately, what I’m reading about the weather isn’t encouraging—Indonesia seems like the better option this season. Sulawesi is really tempting, but the budget is higher.
Since I’ve already been to Thailand in July a few years ago (it was overcast but with little rain), this time I’d love to explore Isan and then do some volunteering at Elephant Nature Park before ending with a few days by the sea. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I postpone it? I love sunshine, even if it’s not constant, and I’ve had enough of rain and gray skies back in Belgium 😅
Thanks so much! 🙏
Hi,
We’re planning a trip to Bali for the second half of March, staying 15 days: 5 days in Ubud, 5 days in Nusa Dua, and 5 days in Lombok. I know it’s not the ideal season, but can anyone tell me if it rains a lot in March, and whether the sea is too rough for swimming in Lombok and Nusa Dua?
Thanks in advance,
Corinne
Hi everyone, we’d like to go to Morocco for the first time around April, preferably from France or Spain. Which departure port would you recommend, and for arrival in Morocco, are there any ports that are better? I’ve read that some arrival ports aren’t very safe. Thanks for your advice!
Hi there,
We're planning a full week in Iceland in April. Given the short timeframe to prepare, I’m asking for some help on the forum.
We’re considering renting a camper van to be more independent with our travel. - Is this really a good idea at this time of year due to weather conditions (cold nights, poor road conditions, etc.)? - Can we just "park" anywhere for the night to sleep, or do we absolutely have to go to a campsite? What are the approximate rates for a van with 2 people? Do we need to book in advance? - If this mode of transport is recommended, do you have any good places to rent one?
Iceland is still a big island with lots of points of interest, so I think it’ll be tough to see everything in 8 days. - Are there parts of the island we should prioritize in April? We like hiking (nothing too long—6 or 7 hours is out of the question) and unique landscapes. - Are some sites inaccessible at this time of year? - Is Reykjavik worth stopping for a day or two?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
Jeff

Hello fellow travelers,
I’m planning to go to Thailand with my two teenagers during the upcoming All Saints' Day break—that’s the second half of October—and I see it’s the bad season. Should I give up and pick another destination? Or is there a region, north or south, that I should avoid? Those of you who know this country well, could you please give me some advice? I don’t want to put my kids at risk. Otherwise, I might head to Mauritius or... I don’t know!
Thanks, friends, for your help.
Looking forward to reading your replies,
Hello,
I’m planning a trip to Brazil in July/August. The thing is, I don’t know where I could find a beach with high temperatures (24 °C / 27 °C) and a favorable climate (not too much rain) during that time. I’d like to enjoy the beach and maybe spot some marine wildlife. I don’t surf.
Any ideas or personal experiences you can share?
Hi there,
We’re planning to tour Scandinavia by camper van—Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway (in that order)—for 5 weeks from late May to late June 2026.
I’ve done it before, but that was way back in 1980 😎 and by hitchhiking!
We’d love to hear from anyone who’s done this trip about the best routes, great tips, must-know advice, and what to do or avoid (ferries, campsites, etc.).
Thanks in advance!
I’m planning a 6-month trip to Europe from Canada. I want to ship my Volkswagen Westfalia van from Halifax to Antwerp. Since I’d like to come back the following year, I’m wondering if I can store my van in Antwerp for 6 months at the end of the trip and if it’s worth it price-wise instead of returning by RORO and leaving again. Do I need to clear customs for my van before storing it? Thanks for your answers.
Hi everyone,
My husband and I are planning an RV trip to Alaska. If any of you have already done a road trip in that part of the world, could you share your experience with us? We’re planning to leave in mid-June (departing from Halifax).
Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.
Annie
Hi fellow travelers,
We’re planning our first trip to Iceland.
We’re considering renting a 4x4 where we could sleep from time to time.
My question is: What’s the current regulation in Iceland? Which areas allow sleeping in your vehicle, and where is it prohibited (requiring you to stay in campgrounds)?
In June, is it possible to find spots without having booked in advance?
Sergio
Hi there,
I have a bit of a crazy dream... I'd love to drop everything and hit the road with my wife and kids in a camper van.
I want to visit villages to learn, immerse ourselves in other cultures, and see different perspectives on the world. To teach my kids different values.
Hi everyone,
I’m planning a camper van trip from the Hautes-Alpes to Sweden in mid-July for three to four weeks.
My first question is about the route—specifically, which ferry to take? Bridges? Do I need to book in advance? Is it better to go via Denmark or take a ferry from Germany? And which cities should I leave from and arrive in?
Are there any toll passes or electronic toll systems I should get for road crossings?
My plan is to visit only southern Sweden…
Thanks in advance for your tips and experiences!
