Accessing Facebook Marketplace for Chiang Mai from France

Hi everyone,

Facebook is giving me a hard time trying to access the Chiang Mai Marketplace from France. I’ve tried using a VPN, clearing my browsing data, and even using a browser not linked to an account—but no luck. The app is even worse since it checks the phone’s location data.

Any tips on how to get around this?

Thanks in advance! Olivier

Hey there, you're kinda stumping me here. I don’t really see a solution. I’d obviously suggest using a VPN, but that’s a no-go. I ran a tracert command on my PC, and to access Facebook, the transmission packets go through tfbnw.net—apparently, it’s a bot server. So, it seems like Facebook’s geolocation detection happens there. The issue with being behind a VPN is you never know where the redirection server is. If the VPN server you’re connecting to is in the US, you’ll run into the same problem.

Hi Mathews,

Thanks for taking the time to check... 🙂 Yeah, it’s a real pain... even when simulating a connection in Thailand, it won’t work. :( At the same time, I’m using ProtonVPN, and they don’t have many servers (compared to others), so there’s little chance they’d have one in THA... So I’ll just wait until I’m there to access it.

Thanks again, Olivier
