Hello, Looking for a travel partner for a trip of at least 2 months, up to 3 months possible. Departure from PARIS on January 27th, one-way flight to HANOI, VIETNAM. Then by train and minibus (I’ve already done the route up to) SAPA (rice terrace ethnic region), then DIEN BIEN PHU, crossing the border to northern LAOS, MUANG KHUA by local boats for about 300 km with stops in MUANG NGOI, NONG KIAW, then continuing on the MEKONG to arrive by boat in LOUANG PRABANG. Stop durations in towns depend on the sights to visit. “If it’s good, we extend; if we’re done, we move on.” The rest by bus, train, and boat: VANG VIENG, VIENTIANE, THAKHET, SAVANNAKHET, PAKSE, CHAMPASSAK. Crossing into Cambodia: KRATIE, PHNOM PENH, KAMPONG KHLEANG (floating and stilt village), SIEM REAP (Angkor). Crossing into Thailand at POIPET (I’ve already spent a month in Thailand). BAN PHE by boat to KO SAMET (white sand, cocktails). Return via BANGKOK. Flight PARIS-HANOI and return BANGKOK-PARIS around 800 €. This is a flexible outline, but I’ve thoroughly researched this trip—the sights to see, charming little hotels with nice settings when possible, even the bars and restaurants are marked on my phone. Budget-wise, it’s not as expensive as you might think. I’m not looking for luxury, just authenticity: cheap little hotels, same for food. I’m 67 years old, have an international driver’s license for cars and motorcycles, and am well-experienced with this kind of road trip. I’m waiting to book my flight (as soon as possible) in case I get a response to travel together or meet up in Hanoi. Possible to go as far as VIENTIANE. My only requirements are: A small backpack, max 5 kg, to move around easily (for moto-taxis, no checked luggage on planes or buses), and absolutely no rolling suitcases (train station sidewalks when looking for a hotel). Also, enjoy walking (I walk a lot to explore)—it can go up to 10 km spread over the day. I’m open to 1 or 2 women who want to “feel secure” or try the 5 kg challenge (I’ve had several female travel partners who survived). I also adapt to vegan travelers. Don’t hesitate to contact me. Departing from Puerto Montt in Chile to the southernmost city in the world, Puerto Williams. Transportation: buses or short-term car rentals and ferries (sailing through the fjords). Accommodations: hospedajes or dorms depending on what we find. Food: markets, street food, local restaurants, and homemade meals—without ruling out little treats. Passing through PUYUHUAPI, COYHAIQUE, PUERTO RÍO TRANQUILO (Marble Caves), PUERTO NATALES (Torres del Paine Park), crossing into Argentina (El Chaltén—trekking capital, El Calafate—Perito Moreno Glacier), PUNTA ARENAS, all the way to the southernmost city in the world, PUERTO WILLIAMS (on Navarino Island) 🏝️ before crossing the Beagle Channel again to reach USHUAIA and heading back up through Argentina—maybe even making our way to Paraguay. No set timeline. The dates aren’t finalized yet. The ideal time for Patagonia is December to February, but that’s also peak season and more expensive. With just one day left (if that!) before I arrive in Florence for a quick getaway, I’m throwing this message into the (Mediterranean) sea in the hope of walking a few steps (wearing out my shoes?) alongside a fellow traveler eager to soak up the scents of Florence—a still-vibrant relic of the Renaissance era. It’d be a sensory awakening without which we’d miss the very essence of discovering lands we too rarely consider.

Open-mindedness, tolerance, a touch of madness (big or small), and Difference are all welcome—even actively sought after!

To keep it simple and less psychedelic, here are the key points of my autumn trip to Tuscany: - Arriving in Florence on the morning of Friday, October 9th - Leaving on Sunday evening, October 11th, to head back to my native Bouches-du-Rhône. That leaves just under three full days to soak up the intensity of Florence and the historical heritage of this famously romantic city. - Since I booked this trip last-minute, I’ll be staying in a youth hostel for both nights. - My sightseeing plans are flexible but will definitely include museums, gardens, and squares/fountains. I fell in love with the Villa Medici in Rome during a previous trip in 2025, so I’d love to continue in that vein.

I didn’t mention it earlier, but I’m traveling solo. I’m 38 years old, but with fewer stardust particles than light-years of flight hours under my belt. I speak Shakespeare’s language moderately well (but compared to my Spanish, it could be worse!) and can handle Cervantes’ language well enough that I’m not terrified of tackling Italy with nothing but Don Quixote’s idioms as my linguistic weapons! Luckily, with my basic grasp of Molière’s language, I might just avoid the Devil and dream of Olympus and the Colosseum (or Olympique de Marseille and Michael Olisé ⚽).

To anyone interested in making this early autumn anything but dull: let’s connect! If I come off as too much, I’ll dial it back—no need to play the tough guy or pull a Sylvester Stallone act if we cross paths. Otherwise, I might end up annoying you to the point of cracking (like a cricket?) or wearing you down (like the cicada—"igual"?), and I’d really rather not end up... alone (thankfully, I don’t have a clone). ;-)

We’re currently three retirees (one man and a couple) looking for one or two people to join us on a road trip through Patagonia by car.

Starting from Concepción in Chile, we’ll head to San Carlos de Bariloche (a possible meet-up point) in Argentina to reach Cabo Vírgenes. Then we’ll return via Route 40, with detours on the Chilean side (Torres del Paine, Lake General Carrera, Coyhaique).

We’ll pass by the Perito Moreno Glacier, Laguna del Desierto, Perito Moreno Park at the foot of San Lorenzo, Jeinemeni Park, Los Alerces Park, and more. A few hikes are planned.

Dates: November 6 to December 15, from Concepción back to Concepción.

No big treks or long hikes, though we could arrange a day or two if we feel like it. The itinerary will be planned together without setting anything in stone, so we can stay flexible and follow our moods without wondering every morning what we’ll do that day.
