bonjour à tous, je viens ici trouver un peu de conseil..mon mari est ivoirien mais vit à l occident depuis plus de 20 ans, mes deux enfants et moi meme francaise partons pendants 5 semaines au mois de juillet aout 2008 pour des vacances dans la famille de mon mari. nous avons longuement reflechis sur notre sejour... sur la situation politique...et nous avons decidée d y aller quand meme car sinon je ne decouvrirais jamais le pays de mon mari.... nos enfants sont aussi demandeur de partager cette culture. a priori tout est calme mais... est ce vrai?.... nous serons a adzopé environ 80 kilometres au nord d abidjan... quels sont les vaccins conseiller? meningite a+c, hepatite a +b, typhoide. mon medecin veut nous vacciner contre tout cela en plus de la fievre jaune qui est obligatoire. j ai un enfant de 4 ans et 11 ans donc je ne veut prend aucun risque!!!!!!enfin voila.... en ce qui concerne le voyage cela fait 10 ans que j attends de decouvrir l afrique donc je suis impatiente d etre le 14 juillet date de notre depart..... meric pour vos encouragement sur ce voyage et aussi sur ceux qui trouve que cest trop risquer dite le ouvertement......bonne soirée a tous

Je t'encourage à venir. La situation est calme. Jje suis français et je vis ici depuis 21 ans. Je suis dans la même situation que toi puisque ma femme est ivoirienne.
Il n'y a rien à craindre je pense, surtout à Adzopé qui est à l'extérieur d'Abidjan. Tu vas passer un super séjour, comme tu viens pour la 1ère fois. Il faut visiter Abidjan quand même, Grand-Bassam et les maisons colonailes et le bord de mer, Assinie et ses superbes plages et aller à l'intérieur de la RCI, à Yamoussoukro, et à l'Est.
par contre, évites d'aller au Nord car il y a encore des coins sensibles. C'est possible mais vaut mieux éviter avec les enfants. personnellement, on n'y va pas.
par contre, à l'intérieur, tu seras accueilli comme une reine, tes enfants aussi. Il faut visiter des villages perdus au hasard de pistes.
J'ai vu des gens quelque peu agressifs mais sans plus. Avant les évènements, on ne voyait pas cela. la situation a bien changé, mais pour toi qui vient pour la 1ère fois, je pense que ce sera un beau séjour. Pour nous qui vivons là, on se lasse de cette situation. Ce n'est plus la Côte d'Ivoire où tu pouvais circuler partout. En plus les flics sont emmerdants sur la route, le racket est quasi systématique.
Pour ne pas t'encombrer, il existe une navette climatisée qui peut venir te chercher à l'aéroport, au prix raisonnable. Cela te fait éviter les voleurs de taxis à l'aéroport qui vont te voir arriver. Si tu veux les coordonnées, tu me le dis.

Il ne faut pas écouter ceux qui sont en France et qui entendent parler de la situation via les journaux télévisés. Ce sont des flashs sur les faits marquants c'est tout. Actuellement, tout est calme et on peut circuler à son aise. Mes parents étaient ici en décembre dernier pour les fêtes. les avions sont pleins.
Même pendant les évènements de Novembre 2004, je suis resté. C'était terrible mais je suis necore là.
Pour les vaccins, il faut les faire. Nous, sur place, nous faisons tous ces vaccins. J'ai des amis qui ont eu la tiphoïde récemment, et l'hépatite est fortement conseillé, donc faites tous les vaccins, même si cela coûte cher en France.
Bonnes vacances par avance. Pour ma part, je serais en congé à ce moment-là mais pas en RCI.....

Je ne regrette pas et j ai été accueillie comme 1 reine !! les gens sont hyper sympas et tres accueillants !!! en plus j étais a Youpougon dans 1 famille!!
Par contre j ai du faire l hépathite A et B, et j ai du prendre des médicaments contre le paludisme ( surtout au mois de juillet c la saison des pluies et la ou il ya le plus de moustiques)

Je découvre le site, en étant à la recherche d'infos aussi pour mon voyage de l'été prochain (qui sera pas en CI cette fois). Bien entendu pour vérifier si les échanges qui sont faits ici correspondent à la réalité, je les compare à ce que je sais de cette réalité. Je suis ivoirienne d'origine et donc j'y vais quand j'en ai les moyens, mais surtout je suis l'actualité à travers les médias et les appels fréquents de ma famille. Je voudrais te rassurer par rapport à tes craintes de mère de famille qui sont fondées. Evidemment, le risque zéro n'existe nulle part sur la planète entière; Pour preuve en france, si on s'en tient à l'actualité, on penserait qu'un violeur d'enfants est posté à chaque coin de rue!!! Il est vrai que dans un pays où la violence a été constatée une fois, on a peur de voir se reproduire la même chose. Mais n'aie pas peur. Tu seras dans TA famille. Le séjour vous fera un break par opposition à la frénésie d'ici. Ton mari doit avoir des parents ou amis proches qui vous dissuaderont si la situation devenait inquiétante juste avant le départ. Mais si malgré tout il se produisait quoi que ce soit pendant que vous y êtes, il y a toujours une forte communeauté française présente à Abidjan qui sera protégée et rapatriée si besoin est. Mais je suis sûre que si tu arrives à effectuer ce voyage, tu le recommanderas à tout ton entourage.

je peux vous dire que le vaccin contre la fièvre jaune qui est obligatoire suffit car vos enfants ont deja eu leur vaccin contre l'hepatite je sppose puisqu'il sont scolarisés. et ne pas oublier le traitement antipaludéen quotidien prescrit par votre medecin pour tous
ne vous faites pas de soucis mais un conseil : ne buvez jamais l'eau du robinet, ayez donc une bouteille d'eau avec vous dans tous vos deplacements, pas de crudités (pour éviter les diarrhées aigües), privilegiez les féculents (attiéké, igname, manioc) c'est très délicieux, vous découvrirez la cuisine ivoirienne et vous verrez bien quel aliment ne vous convient pas.

Simplement j'aurais quand même que tu donnes quelques précisions sur les vaccins nécessaires. J'ai une amie qui habite là bas et que j'ai connue par mail, que je voudrai bien aller voir. Elle habite Tiassalé et travaille dans une société qui fait commerce dans la noix de cajou. Bizarre car c'est une culture du Nord du pays.
Peux tu donc me donner quelques renseignements sur ces vaccins.

Tu as la fièvre jaune obligatoire et le reste je ne sais pas trop. Le meiux est d'aller sur internet et regarder ce qui est obligatoire.
Tu peux faire aussi l'Hépatite A et B, et un traitement anti-palud si tu veux. Si tu as déjà eu le palud, pas forcément utile.
Consultes un centre de vaccination pour les voyageurs.
Pour l'Afrique; fièvre jaune et rappel DT polio impératif; hépatites et thypoide recommandé.
Dans certaines zones et certaines périodes de l'année; vaccin méningite aussi.
Sinon prendre une prophylaxie anti paludique adaptée aux zone de résistance 3

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport? We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter. It was recently confirmed that this is due to rabies.
The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
