I haven’t been back to Senegal or Mauritania in a good fifteen years, so I imagine a lot has changed.
My trip starts in Dakar. I’ll head up to Saint-Louis, then cross into Mauritania. Drive to Nouakchott, take the track along the beach and Banc d'Arguin, then Nouadhibou and on to Morocco.
I’m looking for some info on administrative formalities, permits, visas, etc., regarding:
- Crossing the Senegal-Mauritania border at Diama (I’m in a car)
- Crossing Banc d'Arguin
- Exiting Mauritania at Guerguerat and entering Morocco
Thanks for any tips...

Hi there!
We’re planning a trip to Egypt from January 21 to 28, 2027.
J21 – Arrival in Cairo at 6 PM V22 – Visit the Pyramids S23 – Early flight to Aswan, visit Aswan D24 – Visit Aswan, depart mid-afternoon for Abu Simbel L25 – Morning visit to Abu Simbel, return to Aswan. Is it possible to go all the way to Luxor the same day? Private driver between Aswan and Luxor M26 – Visit Luxor M27 – Visit Luxor J28 – Early flight to Cairo, arrive around 9–10 AM, head back into the city to see 1 or 2 museums (probably just 1 due to time), then flight to Lyon at 7 PM
Does this itinerary seem realistic to you? Does it cover the highlights?
Thanks for your feedback! Best, Christophe

Hello everyone! 🙂
No wonder Tangier has inspired so many artists, writers, painters, and musicians… The "Pearl of the North" will be the first stop on a 12-day journey that will take us through Rabat, Fez, and Meknes.
This is my 15th trip to Morocco, and I’d never been to Tangier before! A round-trip flight from Carcassonne for just 55 € sealed the deal, and here we are, landing two hours later.
Four medinas, four perspectives—an enchantment that remains untouched. Once again, Richard and I will combine our viewpoints in a travel journal, sharing them with you—his through words, mine through images.
