Hi, I’m arriving at T2 in Taipei and was wondering if there are ATMs in the arrivals area or after exiting. Someone advised me to withdraw from Cathay United Bank ATMs since they’re fee-free. I’ve been before but only at T1. If you have other bank names, I’d appreciate it. Thanks
Cordialement, Patrick.

Hey Patrick,

When are you going? I’ll be at T2 at the end of November and haven’t looked into this yet since I’m heading back to South Korea in a few days.

Okay, I arrive on 11/21 and I'm staying for 2 and a half weeks in Taiwan.

This is my first time in Asia. I'm traveling for 3 months—after Taiwan, I'm heading to Vietnam for a month, then Japan for 3 weeks, and finally wrapping up with a month in China.
Cordialement, Patrick.

Love your itinerary!

Three weeks in South Korea in September for the 4th installment, 2 1/2 in Taiwan at the end of November, and 3 in Australia at the end of March for the finalized trips.

I’ve been to Korea five times, the last one before COVID, but for this part of Asia, I’ve been totally charmed by Japan for 16 years—this’ll be my 27th trip. It’s not a drug, but almost! LOL! I like spending a few days in Taiwan, and this time I’m skipping Thailand completely to focus on Vietnam, which now appeals to me more. I rediscovered China last April, and it’s really changed—I’m keen to go back soon. It’s been 10 years since I’ve set foot in Australia, same for New Zealand.
Cordialement, Patrick.

I really love CDS and always discover great spots by renting a car.

I first visited Japan in 1998 and have been back twice since. Okinawa, Hokkaido, and Kyushu are still on my to-do list.

Taiwan will be my first time, and I’ll be renting a car there too.

Taiwan’s great—it feels like a mix of China and Korea, I really like it. I’ve never rented a vehicle in Asia because public transport is so well-developed. I’ve only rented in New Zealand (a campervan) and in North and South America. The issue in Asia is parking, which can be nonexistent or super expensive, especially in big cities.
Cordialement, Patrick.
