J'avais prévu un arrêt à Barstow pour faire l'outlet mais après avoir trouvé de vieux commentaires, j'ai compris que Barstow tombait en désuétude et qu'il existait d'autres outlets plus interessant comme celui de Primm.
Qqun peut-il me conseiller sur le meilleur outlet sur la route entre LA et LV ou sur les routes suivantes que je vais faire : 15, 135, 89, 40 ?
Mon fils s'attend à ce que nous revenions avec des levi's, des Converse et autres polos à des prix interessants et pour ma part ce sont plutot des vetements de Golf
merci de vos retours, j'allais réserver une nuit à Barstow donc j'attens impatiemment vos réponses car je pars le 8 mai et il est temps que je finalise la réservation des hotels
Dimanche dernier en venant de Palm Springs j'ai justement fait la pause au outlet de Barstow; il fait partie des Tanger Outlets (tangeroutlet.com).
Bon je m'y suis acheté des chausettes chez Van Heusen... Je les trouve un peu minces 😕
Ça ne tombe pas du tout en désuétude contrairement à celui de Primm (où je suis allé en septembre) et que j'ai trouvé déprimant à souhait.
Là où j'avais fait les meilleures affaires c'est au Outlet de Las Vegas situé un peu au sud de l'aéroport.
Quelqu'un avec nous a finalement trouvé la qualité du vêtement recherché chez Gap dans... les galeries du Ceasar's !
Faut savoir que la marchandise d'un Outlet n'est jamais de la même qualité que celle des marchandises en boutique.
cela ne veut pas dire que vous n'y ferez pas de bonnes affaires et qu'on n'a pas toujours besoin de la première qualité.
Mais pourquoi réserver à Barstow? En faisant des pauses vous pourriez très bien faire d'un seul coup LA -LV.
Les outlets, vous les verrez de loin sur les autoroutes que vous utiliserez, ils sont bien annoncés.

Pendant quelques années l'Outlet de Barstow a connu la degringolade, mais depuis quelques mois la partie Tanger a l'air de s'agrandir, un hotel Holiday Express est ouvert depuis à peu prés un an.
Les magasins sont ouverts tous les jours y compris le dimanche de 10h à 20h, 21h en semaine.

personnellement je ne suis pas d'accord avec les autres forumeurs.
Outlet LV :bien
Barstrow : pas grand chose y compris dans la partie Tanger : Ex :Le Ralph Laurens de Primm est 3 fois plus grand et tres agreable.
La seule chose qui peut l'emporter pour Barstow, c'est le fait que l'on passe d'une boutique à l'autre dehors, et que le decor est pas mal. A Primm, on rentre dans un grand mall classique.
Le Magasin de Nike est tres grand avec beaucoups de fin de serie ( Primm).
Et plein d'autre magasins dont j'ai oubli" les enseignes.
Bref; Barstow, on peut s'arreter sur la route, mais je m'arreterais à Primm.
Et je ne comprends pas le posr qui dit que cela tombe en desuetude : c'est tout neuf et tout les magasins sont occupés par des marques contrairement à Barstow ou il y a un certain nombre de magasins sans marque.
A Barstow il y a quand meme Oshkosh pour les enfants ....

En fait vous y êtes passé quand à Barstow et à Primm? Parce que depuis le temps ça risque d'avoir bien changé comme c'est le cas dans tous les outlets américains.
J'étais à Primm en septembre 2007 et à Barstow dimanche dernier.
Mes trois compagnes - magasineuses n'ont rien trouvé de convenable à Primm.
Dans le feuillet que j'ai sous les yeux il y a pour le Children's clothing à Barstow: Gap - mais on a trouvé plus belle qualité au Gap du Ceasar's à Las Vegas - Gymboree, Old Navy, Polo Ralph Loren, Quicksilver, Reebook, et Tommy Hilfiger.
Je vois qu'une petite question soulève beaucoup de remarques...intéressant
Je confirme que si j'ai le temps je ferai les 2 sachant que je respecte mon plan à savoir arrêt à Barstow pour une nuit.
Au fait lorsque je parlais d'enfant faut savoir qu'en fait il a 20 ans docn c'est plutot un adulte

Si cela change si vite en 1 mois, peut-etre devrait-on eviter

Voudrais pas paraitre rabat-joie.... mais attention au douanier au retour à Roissy.... les US ne sont pas l'Europe et il y a toujours possibilité de droits de douane et bien sur de TVA ..... sur tes achats de vêtements !😠😠

Pour Primm si je m'y arrête se sera plus pour l'outlet que pour le tourisme... un peu comme Barstow quoi...
Après pour les douanes... je sais car les US c'est pas une première pour moi... on a droit à 120 euros par personne incluant tous tes achats 😠(comprenant en prime les petits souvenirs)... t'as droit à rien en somme.... Après les douanes sont pas dupes... si tu reviens avec des vêtements mais qu'ils voient bien que c'est pour ton usage et pas pour le commerce... ils sont indulgent... il est évident qu'il vaut mieux éviter de revenir avec 15 jeans levi's, 10 sacs guess... sinon même si t'as fait que du shopping pour toutes tes copines réunies ils vont penser qu'il y a anguille...
Le but du jeu c'est d'arriver la valise un peu vide aux US... d'acheter... de commencer à porter quelques affaire là bas et d'en laisser avec des étiquettes car ils sont quand même pas c**...
Nous on a de la chance pour l'instant aucun contrôle bagages arrivé en France... par contre comme on a 2 assez grosses valises une moi et une mon mari on s'est déjà fait bloqué et ils nous ont demandé si on avait quelques choses à déclarer... on a répondu qu'on avait des souvenirss et des fringues... ils ont pas vraiment chercher...pourvu que ça dure...😎

Pour les douanes le probleme est simple partir avec le minimum, acheter la bas et porter tout ce qu on achete !

Enfin, est-ce que les Outlets de LV sont 2 endroits différents ? (Fashion outlets et Premium outlets) l'adresse me semble être différente.

Puisque tu recherches des vêtements de golf, et si tu veux en plus qu'ils soient exclusifs, je te conseille la boutique Nike Golf (si, si.....) dans la galerie marchande du Mandalay Bay. Je crois que c'est la seule boutique Nike dédiée au golf.
Les outlet de Vegas sont vraiment intéressants. Il y a celui à coté de l'aéroport et celui à l'autre bout du strip, pas loin du Stratosphere.
Mais depuis cette année, il y a aussi Townsquare (au sud, en face de l'aéroport). Un shopping village super bien thématisé. En revanche ce n'est pas un Outlet. Mais vu le prix du dollar, certaines marques introuvables en Outlet, tu les trouve ici. Si tu vas à l'Outlet de Vegas sud, profites-en pour faire Townsquare ; ya qu'à traverser la route.
Qu'est ce qu'on trouve comme marque? et à quel prix environ par rapport au prix français?
Les outlet, c'est en fait des magasins d'usine? des magasins qui vendent les collections des années précédentes? merci pour vos explications.

Depuis que je lui ai fait découvrir les outlets de San Francisco, elle n'attendait qu'une chose c'était de retourner aux US la valise vide 😏 pour pourvoir la remplir car son bilan de la dernière fois c'est qu'elle n'avait pas fait assez d'emplettes 😄😄😄. De plus tu as raisons avec le prix du dollars on est avantagé sur quasiment tout (pour ma part le matériel photo)...

On trouve de grandes marques à prix vraiment cassés : Ecko, Gap, Levis, Nike, Guess.....etc
tu tapes dans google : outlet las vegas, et t'auras toutes les infos.
Effectivement je suis aux US mais le wifi de mon hotel de Chinle (canyon de Chelly) me permet de lire mes mails et le forum.
Alors je confirme qu'on a fait une razia dans les outlets de Barstow (uniquement Ralph Lauren en ce qui me concerne) mais surtout celui situé tout près de l'aéroport de LV (pas de Ralph Lauren mais Hilfiger, Converse et Timberland) qui est vraiment super.
Bateaux Timberland à 19, 95 $ ça vous dit ??? Les mêmes vus au Printemps avant mon départ à plus de 100 € ...
Par contre les adresses vers SF m'interessent vraiment car j'y serait dans une semaine.

si ta oublier quelques choses a Vegas tu peut toujours t'arreter sur le chemin du retour avant barstow.....sur l'I15 y en a d'autres....avec en gros les memes tarifs, mais moins de boutique....
Donc a San Francisco même, on allait faire nos affaires dans une boutique Ross (c'est une chaine il en existe partout aux US et qui vend des fringues de marques et autres à prix cassé, il y a des arrivages très souvent mais il faut fouiller, tu peux faire de mégas affaires, on y passait tous les soir) sur Market Street car on logait sur Union Square (sur Geary street, près de macy's plus exactement) dont c'était très pratique car Market street est la rue parallèle à Geary Street en logeant Powell (tu trouveras aussi le terminus du Cable Car ainsi que le kiosque ou tu peux acheter les pass pour le cable, le muni, le metro et autres. Si tu souhaites prendre le cable car plusieurs fois opte pour la carte de plusieurs jours sinon le ticket solo est hors de pris.
Ensuite sur Market street on allait chez Old Navy (une marque que tu trouves aux US au Canada et en Angleterre) mais qu'il est impossible de trouver en France. Tu y fais de bonnes affaires, c'est de la bonne qualité, c'est fashion et avec le dollars c'est super avantageux.
Apparement tu as une voiture .... car les outlets sont dans la baie de San Francisco a environ 1 h de la ville... on en a fait deux. Le premier a Gilroy
et l'autre est ce qu'ils appellent un Mall et c'est donc le Mall de Milpitas. Un mall c'est en fait un grand centre commerciale... il y a des marques connus et d'autres non mais cela vaut vraiment le coup... on a adoré

Dernier truc... si tu veux faire des affaires de bijoux, n'hésite pas à aller à Chinatown sur San Francisco... il y a de bonnes affaires... tu peux négocier les prix et encore plus si tu payes cash.... Mon homme m'a offert un solitaire en diamant ... on l'a fait expertiser en rentrant pour voir si on ne s'était pas fait avoir sur l'authenticité de la pierre... et ben non on a même été surpris du prix de l'estimation de la bague en France vu ce qu'on l'avait payé en dollars (un certain prix quand même)...

Nous avons organisé un voyage (couple retraité) fin août -première quinzaine de septembre dans l'ouest canadien.
Circuit classique : arrivée à Calgary, Banff, Jasper, Clearwater, Whistler, île de Vancouver, départ de Vancouver.
Je sais que vous ne lisez pas plus que moi dans la boule de cristal, aussi je ne vous demande évidemment pas quelle sera la situation au niveau des incendies dans un mois...
Mais si certains d'entre vous pouvaient me dire si, ACTUELLEMENT, il y a de grosses difficultés, non seulement pour les habitants, évidemment, mais pour les touristes ?
Nous hésitons en effet à tenter le coup ou à annuler ce qui peut encore l'être.
Nous ne sommes pas jeunes, et n'avons plus la flexibilité d'autrefois...

Hello everyone! Really damaged due to flooding caused by runoff after forest fires (a total mess!), does anyone in this friendly forum have any updates on the Apache Trail between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam? Is there still a section of the road that’s tough to navigate?
We're leaving at the end of June and will be driving the route between Buffalo and Cody. We’ve already booked our accommodations and a rodeo in Cody, but during the day, we’ll be driving between the two and I’m unsure about the itinerary.
Which route do you think is the most pleasant, interesting, or scenic between:
- The northern route via Highway 14 with Sheridan, Lowell, etc.
- The southern route with Highways 16/20/14, passing by Loaf Mountain Overlook, Powder River Pass, Ten Sleep Canyon...
We’ll be in a car, so we should be able to drive on any road.

I’m almost done planning our September road trip. After our 3-night visit to Sequoia, we’ll have a stopover night in Coalinga (to break up the drive). We’ll be staying two nights in Monterey and would like to stop along the way to visit one side of Pinnacles National Park. We’re torn between the West entrance and the East entrance, and we’d like to do a short hike of no more than 2 hours since we don’t want to arrive too late in Monterey.
This park is split into two distinct zones with no connection between them, and the mileage from Coalinga to Monterey is pretty much the same for both. Which area do you recommend visiting—east or west? And which route is the most scenic?
I’ve spotted two short hikes:
- East: Moses Spring to Rim Trail Loop
- West: Balconies Cliffs Cave Loop
Has anyone been there, or do you have another hike to suggest?

After our first trip as a young couple to the West in 2007 (yes, that doesn’t make us any younger!), we’re planning to go back in 2028, but this time as a family of four! (We have two boys who’ll be 5½ and 13 years old in the summer of 2028.)
Our plan is to combine a few big cities (SF and LA, maybe San Diego) with national parks and state parks, mostly!
Ideally, we’d like to leave at the end of June and head back to France around July 19–20, so we can enjoy the first week of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Since we already did the "loop" in 2007, there are must-see places we absolutely want to revisit—and especially share with our kids: Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, and above all, the Grand Canyon, which is still the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen on Earth!
On the other hand, some places didn’t leave a big impression on us for various reasons, so we’re not making them a priority: Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, for example.
We’re planning ahead, but might as well be smart about it😏
Do you have any tips for a fun and doable itinerary over about 20–25 days with kids, without rushing?

Just a quick question about King Canyon and Sequoia National Park.
Before our night in Miramonte, we plan to visit King Canyon. The next stop will be two nights in Three Rivers to explore Sequoia National Park. I wanted to go all the way to Roaring River Falls on the King Canyon Scenic Byway and then turn back to head to Miramonte. Since we’re coming from Oakhurst, Google Maps says it’s 300 km and 5 hours of driving. Since we also want to hike to see the sequoias (Big Stump Area and Grand Grove) before tackling the King Canyon Scenic Byway, the timing’s going to be tight. How far do you recommend going before turning back to miss as few points of interest as possible on the King Canyon Scenic Byway? Thanks for your advice, and have a great evening!

I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.
There are several attractions along the way:
- Mormon Rocks
- Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Mojave Desert
- Mojave National Preserve
- Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
- Silverwood Lake
My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?

Is it pretty easy to navigate Detroit Airport to catch the connecting flight to Grand Rapids (domestic flight)? There are several of them who speak English well.

We’d like to walk to Eagle Falls and then Eagle Lake. I’ve spotted two parking lots that seem close to each other and give access to the trailhead. Where and how do we pay for entry to Emerald Bay State Park and Inspiration Point?
**Viewpoints on the East Side:**
Are most of the viewpoints (Balancing Rock, Granite Cave, Bonsai Rock, etc.) right by the road, or do you have to hike to reach them?
**Donner Memorial State Park:**
Is it worth making a detour to Truckee to visit this park and the Truckee historic downtown?

I’ve read there are trails to access the trailheads for Cinder Cone (11 km) and Warner Valley. Are these easy trails for an SUV?

I’m a total USA addict. I’ve already done several road trips, including the East Coast and West Coast.
I’m here today because I’m planning to go back for another road trip on the West Coast. Possibly with one of my sisters and a couple of friends. It’s still just a plan for now, but I’m working on an itinerary in the meantime. Ideally, I’d leave in 2026, but I don’t have the exact dates yet—maybe April-May or September-October.
My last trip to the West Coast was in September 2014. We went for 2 weeks, but this time it’d be 3 weeks. What made me want to go back was simply a colleague who just left today. As I’m writing this, he’s on the plane. I’m so happy for him, but now all I can think about is going back.
Since I recently went to NY, I noticed that prices have really gone up. I assume the same is true for the West Coast? For 2 people over 3 weeks, what budget should I expect? We’re the type to watch our spending and find great tips.
I think we’ll arrive in San Francisco like the first time and leave from either Los Angeles or Las Vegas.

Travelers to the United States | Photo Now Mandatory Upon Entry and Exit | La Presse
I assume many of you already know, but the America the Beautiful annual pass, which was $80, will increase to $250 starting January 1, 2026.
So if you're planning to travel before the end of December 2026, it's in your best interest to buy your pass in December 2025, since it will still cost $80 and be valid until the end of December 2026 if you purchase it in December 2025.
This price increase only applies to non-U.S. residents.
Additionally, for those who planned to visit just one park, a $100 surcharge per person will apply to access a list of 11 national parks...
For example, if there are 4 of you in a car, you’ll have to pay $35 + $400,
which comes to $435 to visit one of the 11 parks on the list (I don’t have all of them... Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, etc.).
Total madness.
The goal is to push people who only visit one park into buying the annual pass.
Last point: free entry days are over for non-residents!
