Hi, I'm looking for someone who could teach me Kabyle, thanks.
PR Priam ·
Well, I don’t speak Kabyle, but I understand it naturally since my parents spoke it at home. I know that doesn’t help you at all, sorry 😕, but I just wanted to congratulate you because wanting to invest in such a "minor" language... Bravo 🙂

Hope you find what you're looking for!

I’ll point you to a community site where you might find something:

Hi there, I’m from Sétif and I’m going to marry a Kabyle woman. I’d love it if you could teach me the basics of the Berber language. Thanks!
MA Madi1961 ·
Hi, there are books to learn conjugation and writing in Berber by Salem CHAKER, and also by Mouloud MAMMERI. Here’s an address in Paris: Académie Berbère, 3 rue d’Uzès—I don’t remember the arrondissement. There are also associations in France and Canada that offer courses. If I find more addresses, I’ll let you know.
KA Kabylafond ·
Hi!! I also want to learn Kabyle because I’m originally from there
BI Biman Regular ·
If it’s not a minor language, then explain to me the meaning of the word 'minor.' Cheers, biman

Hi there!!! I’d love it if you could teach me Kabyle too I know a few things here and there from my dad, but if I could actually speak it, it’d be better than just a few words here and there!!! 🙂
DR Draconus ·
Hi everyone,

What if we made our own "Learn Kabyle" app? A free app with several modes: the story mode. We’d see several drawings on the screen that tell a story. For each image, there’d be text written in Kabyle (with different possible scripts—you could choose in the options). An MP3 sound would play to help with pronunciation (with different voices available in the options if possible). You’d have the translation in the language of your choice. You could select a word from the text, and it’d take you to the "vocabulary" mode for that word.

The vocabulary mode: Definition of the word (in the language you chose for translation) MP3 for pronunciation Plural form, conjugation of the word, verb forms.

The "games" mode: We’d need to come up with little games to help learn the language.

Personally, I have the technical skills to make this project happen. I need your help with the rest. If anyone’s interested, let me know! I’ll put together a mock-up with placeholder MP3s, dummy texts, etc., just to show you a prototype of the software. You can then judge how serious the project is, and hopefully, you’ll want to get involved.

So, what do you think?
NA Nanoo94 ·
Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

Personally, I think your project is super interesting!!!! But honestly, I don’t really see how I could help since I barely speak Kabyle myself lol, but anyway, if there’s anything I can do, I’d be happy to help—just let me know, no worries 🙂

Have a great day 😉

Hi,

I’d love to learn Kabyle, and in exchange, I can teach you English, Hindi, or Persian—your choice! Or if you’d do it just out of friendship, I’d appreciate it even more.

Best regards.

Hey draconus, I’d love to know if your project worked out—if it did, could you give me the address? Also, I’m looking for a site that teaches how to write Kabyle. I speak it fluently but can’t write it, and it really bums me out. Thanks so much! 😉kahina
