After a really long-haul flight, I sometimes end up with some serious luggage in front of me. Gonna see if I’ve got a pic...

Meh! 😛

For sure, unfortunately you can't photograph intellectual baggage!

Hi everyone, travelers and luggage-toting wanderers...

I had written this:

The key is to talk about traveling with luggage.

Actually, seeing Poste42’s two photos, I think we can broaden the topic—that is, the idea of travel isn’t mandatory anymore, but we still keep the focus on showcasing luggage. Are you okay with that?

A welcome expansion! :)
DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
I think so :) I really thought a few days ago that everyone had packed up and left!

When you want to camp in the middle of a field and still have a bit of comfort, you’ve got to bring your pillow, blanket, and the picnic basket!

And the cousins take care of the wood for the campfire. It’s quite the load, isn’t it?

DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
Of course it's a real load of stuff! And what an adventure trip ahead!!
RO Rouquine38 Globetrotter ·
It seems so :) I really thought a few days ago that everyone had packed up and left!

No, Dolma, I haven’t given up yet, but my input on this topic is pretty thin, even if I stretch it a bit 😅.

Hi there,

I really thought a few days ago that everyone had packed up and left!

In the countries I wander through, travelers tend to use pretty ordinary backpacks or rolling suitcases that I don’t find very interesting to photograph. 😉

An Uzbek woman tucks some bread into her bag at Samarkand station:

It’s a widespread custom to travel from one city to another carrying sometimes notable amounts of bread, with each city having its own specialty.

but we still emphasize the importance of luggage.

Will breaking this rule cost me my bag?

Having made his fortune at the crack of dawn, the desert goldsmith leaves humming, his heart as light as his luggage (I’m explaining because there’s no sound in the photo). Kaokoland, Namibia.

It's an absolute horror and in incredibly bad taste 😮—yet perfectly on theme 😄 !
DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
Luggage doesn’t need to be in 'close-up' to stand out. In your two photos, they tell a story—and that’s what really matters ;)
DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
Actually, I don’t find it that weird to buy bread when it’s a local specialty—I sometimes do it myself. It’s not quite a custom like it seems to be among Uzbeks, though. 🙂

Okay, the topic’s pretty niche, but digging around a bit on the hard drive, I found 2 or 3 snapshots:

Carry-On Luggage: the tote bag was already trendy back in 2019 at this shop in Hoi An

They’re so lovely! I love it 😊
AV Av31 Regular ·
When a modern suitcase meets a more traditional one, what do they talk about?

DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
I don’t know what these bags are talking about, but the encounter seems really nice! 🙂
RO Rouquine38 Globetrotter ·
These aren’t exactly luggage but rather heavy loads you might come across on the roads of Laos, Cambodia, or Vietnam 😄

DO Dolma Globetrotter ·
Sure, we might not be carrying travelers' luggage, but these packs and other loads fit the theme perfectly—and more often than not, they’re all you see 😄 !
