Hello! We’ll be arriving in Montreal on October 21st for a 3-day stay. After that, we’re heading to Sherbrooke to visit our daughter, who’s studying at the university there. We’ll spend 3 days with her, and then, since she has a break that week, we’re taking her along for 3 days in Quebec City. We’ve planned to visit Montmorency Falls and Île d'Orléans. I’d love to hear what route you’d recommend for the drive from Sherbrooke to Quebec City—we’ll have the whole day to take it easy. If you have any other recommendations, I’m all ears! A little disappointed that the fall colors will be over by then, but the dates couldn’t be helped. Thanks in advance for your tips!

hey, Around the Sherbrooke area, a little trip to Coaticook can be really nice—check out the Park (Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook - Centre de Plein Air) and don’t miss the famous creamery and its ice cream (Laiterie de Coaticook – Ice cream & local cheeses).

For getting to Quebec City, I’d recommend crossing the river at Trois-Rivières (and maybe stopping for a bite there) and then taking Route 138 along the river—it’s called the "Chemin du Roy" (Home - Chemin du Roy: Chemin du Roy). It’s way more scenic than taking Highway 20 straight from Drummondville.

For Montmorency Falls, last time I went, I parked at the top (2579 Avenue Royale) and entered the park from Rue Royale (bonus: free parking and you’re right at the top of the falls!). I found a spot in the little streets behind the gas station. That said, I haven’t been back in ages, so I’m not sure if you can still access it that way—but worst case, you can walk a bit to the manor!

For fall colors, it might be a little late, but you could still catch some depending on the weather! Just in case, here’s the fall foliage tracker: Where to see fall colors in Quebec | Bonjour Québec

happy trip planning!
