Je prépare actuellement un voyage au Maroc avec 3 amis en Octobre. Je voudrai avoir quelques conseils du forum sur les endroits où s'arrêter, les auberges recommendables, etc. Nous démarrons le 7 octobre à Marrakech pour terminer le 23 à Marrakech aussi, avec quelques étapes obligatoires au milieu (famille, aéroport, etc.). Je précise que je suis moi-même marocain résidant en Allemagne, mes amis étant allemands et italiens. Cela dit, je n'ai encore jamais traverser l'Atlas et aurais besoin d'avis de connaisseurs :-)
- Lundi 7/10: arrivée à Marrakech, récupération de la voiture de location.
On sera deux à ce moment-là, ma copine et moi-même. Le 3ème arrivant le vendredi 11 à Marrakech même. L'idée est donc de bien visiter Marrakech en profondeur puis éventuellement de faire une journée dans la vallée de l'Ourika ou Asni. Qu'en dites vous? Peut-être aussi aller passer une nuit vers Demnate et voir les cascades d'Ouzoud.
- Vendredi 11/10: arrivée du 3ème voyageur, départ pour Casablanca où atterit dans la nuit la 4ème personne.
J'ai prévu de passer 2 nuits et une journée à Casablanca. Connaissant la ville assez bien, je pense que cela suffit pour les endroits clés: Médina/Port/Mosquée Hassan 2 + Corniche.
- Dimanche 13 matin: départ pour Salé (Rabat), où mes parents habitent, pour les festivités de l'Aid qui doit tomber soit le 14 soit le 15.
- Mercredi 16: départ très tôt pour l'incontournable ville de Fès pour deux journées et une nuit. Question qui va être récurrente pour toutes les étapes suivantes: Où s'arrêter en chemin pour la pause déjeuner ou pause photos/café/clope. C'est le genre d'infos qui me manquent en général car quand je vais à Fes sans touristes à bord je ne cherche pas forcèment les endroits les plus authentiques pour faire mes pauses... Malheureusement d'ailleurs. En rédigeant cette partie je me rends compte qu'il serait plus judicieux de tracer les deux d'autoroute pour arriver à Fes et bien profiter de la ville jusqu'au lendemain.
- Jeudi 17: départ en direction du Sud-Est, l'objectif étant de passer la nuit du Vendredi au Samedi sur les dunes de Merzouga. J'ai donc pensé à la ville de Midelt pour la nuit intermédiaire. Ca nous permettra de rouler tranquillement via Ifrane, Azrou, la forêt de cèdres, Timahdit puis d'arriver à Midelt en fin de journée. Avez-vous d'autres propositions pour passer la nuit? Connaissez-vous de bonnes auberges dans le coin? Ou s'arreter pour manger?
- Vendredi 18: étape Midelt - Merzouga, l'objectif étant d'arriver avant 16h au pieds des dunes pour partir en dromadaire avec le guide. Quel serait votre parcours type de la journée?
- Samedi 19: retour à l'auberge et départ en direction de la nationale N10 en coupant par la R702 reliant Erfoud et Tinejdad. Vu que l'objectif est de profiter un peu du paysage, mais aussi d'être à Marrakech le dimanche après-midi, je pense m'arrêter au niveau de Skoura. On pourra donc rouler tranquillement en s'arretant a Tinghir, Todgha et Dadès, puis d'arriver tranquillement en fin de journée sur Skoura. Est-ce une bonne idée de passer la nuit là bas? Y a-t-il de bonnes adresses dans le coin? Quels sont les endroits (en dehors de la N10) ou l'on peut s'aventurer pour prendre quelques photos et admirer le paysage.
- Dimanche 20: étape Skoura - Marrakech, avec arrêt Ait BenHaddou et déjeuner sur le col. J'ai entendu parler d'un bon restaurant tout en haut, c'est lequel?
- Lundi 21: départ d'un de mes covoyageurs de Marrakech.
- Mardi 22: départ avec les deux restants direction Essaouira pour deux jours / une nuit. Avez-vous de bonnes adresses là aussi?
- Mercredi 23: retour en fin de journée sur Marrakech, remise de la Logan de location.
- Jeudi 24: je rentre chez mes parents pour mes deux derniers jours au Maroc. Mes deux amies restantes profiteront de ces deux jours pour se perdre toutes seules dans les ruelles de Marrakech.
- Samedi 26: Fin du voyage.
J'ai veillé à ce que le programme ne soit pas trop chargé, tout en gardant un bon rythme sportif qui prenne en compte les contraintes et envies de chacun. J'ai donc laissé tomber Tanger/Chefchaouen.

je ne connais pas tout les endroits que vous évoquez ; pour ce que je connais :
une adresse d'hébergement sympa à Marrakech: www.chezbabethetaziz.com (je ne touche aucune commission..) des amis qui ont un petit riad chambres d'hôtes (ce n'est pas un hôtel déguisé) référencé dans le guide du routard 2013... accueil très sympathique, ambiance plutôt familial.
mais il y en plein d'autres....
pour Ourika , c'est magnifique, sauf que c'est un haut lieu touristique, même pour les marocains... il y a du monde. n'y allez pas le WE. à l'entrée de la vallée, le Musée Berbère , signalé par des grandes pancartes vertes dans un des premiers villages traversés, vaut l'arrêt. ( à mon avis...)
si Asni, qui n'est pas terrible en soi, continuer jusqu'à Imlil, (environ 15 km) c'est un village de montagne, vous êtes au pied du mont Toubkal. Paysage de hautes montagnes magnifique (si on aime) Plusieurs resto sympa, un où je vais régulièrement - :je crois il s'appelle Atlas Tichka. vue depuis la terrasse superbe, nourriture et service très corrects.
vous évoquez un bon resto tout en haut du cil du Tichka. jamais fait attention. par contre, plein de boutiques de cailloux, de fossiles, de pizzas... il faut bien que tout le monde vive...
mais 20km plus bas, le village de Taddart. arrêt presque obligatoire pour les cars et les grands taxis. on y trouve des restos très sympa (attention, c'est quand même pas La Tour d'Argent)...
voilà qlq idées qui me sont venues à propos de ce que vous envisagez...
j'ai juste oublié : à Aït Ben Haddou, ça vaut le coup de remonter par la vallée de l'Ounila jusqu'à Telouet. la route est superbe. on peut y visiter la Kasbah du Glaoui, plusieurs resto. de Telouet, on rejoint la route nationale qui va au col...

depuis la route de l'Ourika, on peut monter jusqu'à Oukaïmden. on y fait du ski l'hiver.
peut-être que les troupeaux et les familles qui les surveillent et qui viennent y passe l'été ne seront pas redescendus.
la vallée pour s'y rendre est magnifiques, les villages berbères ne sont pas encore touchés par le tourisme...
on mange bien "chez Juju", plusieurs petits restos qui servent des tagines corrects
demander qu'on vous montre les gravures rupestres, disséminées dans le village (un billet de 20 dirhams sera fort apprécié )

Comme François je trouve votre programme assez bien ficelé si l'on tient compte des vos contraintes ...
Attention toutefois, on ne roule pas très vite sur les routes marocaines....les distances sont donc à "allonger" par arpport à l'Europe (autoroutes allemandes !!!)...et puis si vous voulez bien profiter il faut compter avec quelques arrêts photos - resto....donc ne comptez pas plus de 60 à 70 km/h pour être sûr de ne pas être stressé et ne pas avoir à rouler de nuit...(pas bcp d'éclairage = très dangereux). Donc certains jours il faudra vous lever tôt ! Heureusement en mars les jours ont déjà bien progressé...
A Skoura je suis passée ce printemps à la kasbah Amridil....elle est assez bien signalée....en fait elle comporte deux parties: une fait office de musée assez intéressant à visiter ....et à côté vous avez la partie hôtelière...qui a l'air pas mal du tout et à des prix corrects.....allez voir sur internet ! (pas de comm. non plus ! ). Du côté d'Aït Benhaddou, il y a uen auberge adorable....sur la route direction Telouet, c'est l'Auberge Ayouze, très sympa et pas chère !...mais je ne crois pas que vous ayez à passer la nuit dans cette région....enfin on ne sait jamais.

Sur la route Ouarzazate Marrakech, combien dure le voyage si le départ se fait de Skoura avec pause à Ait Benhaddou, poursuite sur la P1506 direction Tenouelt et la Kasbah du Glaoui, puis reprise de la N9 direction Marrakech avec une autre pause en bas du col. Est-ce que 6h c'est raisonnable comme estimation?

il me semble qu'il faut compter une heure Skoura Ouarzazate, , et j'ai fait la route Marrakech -Ouarzazate par Télouet et la vallée de l'Ounila en 6 heures, tranquillement. (inclus la visite de la kasbah)...
en tout cas, une journée pleine pour le tout, pour ne pas être stressé par le temps....

My plan is roughly to do a road trip loop from Rabat back to Rabat, passing through Asilah, Tangier, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Akchour, Fès, Meknès, and Volubilis.
That’s a lot of cities.
Probably a bit too many for our taste—we usually prefer more isolated spots...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?

- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains
Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!)
Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.

Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon

Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon

For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
