Hi Community,
We're heading to South America with our converted truck, which is a light vehicle (3,500 kg limit) that we’re shipping by boat in October this year (2026).
But after weighing it, we’re at 4,500 kg.
Based on your experience, do you think we’ll get stopped in South America (Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, and southern Brazil) because of this?
Are there police checks for overweight vehicles? Has this happened to any of you?
Thanks in advance for your experiences and advice!

Hi all you adventurers;
I’ve already covered 42,000 km in South America and my big dream is to go back to these regions where the landscapes are stunning.
I’m inviting 1 or 2 RV travelers to share this adventure. Or 1 solo person who’d like to join us (we’re a couple). Shared costs.
We’re aiming to leave around late September 2027. Plan for 6 months on the road (maybe more).
I’ve got a lot of experience in these countries.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch—I’ll be happy to answer your questions.

Hi, I’d like to know if gas stations with LPG are well distributed in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile? Thanks.
