Hello Which cruisers from the forum who’ve already stopped in Barcelona with the cruise ship Splendida could give me some info: Is the port far from the city? What are the best ways to explore on our own—taxis, hop-on-hop-off buses, something else? And prices, if you remember any. Thanks in advance

hi there

yeah, it's a long walk on foot.

2 options: the cruise line's shuttle. and the city bus right next to it, cheaper. I don't remember the price, but I think the city one should be around 5 euros.

Hi there, In Barcelona, the best option is to take the blue buses—on the left as you exit the terminal—for a round-trip fare of 3 €. They’ll drop you near the Christopher Columbus statue (close to the metro and Las Ramblas). Alternatively, MSC offers a shuttle for around 9 €. Walking is long and tedious. You can easily get around by metro… Otherwise, taxis aren’t too expensive. I’m not familiar with the tourist buses, but I think there are two or three different routes. Safe travels and happy planning! Best, Claudine

Hi, In 2014, the tourist bus was 25 € per person. Personally, we took the city bus. Best regards

Hi,

You can check out this link: http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/fr/transport/port-croisieres-barcelone.html

We’ll be in Barcelona on October 6th. Departing from Genoa on the Splendida. And you?

Wishing you a great cruise. Best, Mireille

I forgot a link that also seems useful: http://www.portdebarcelona.cat/ca/web/Port-del-Ciudada/cruceros

A few days before the ships arrive, you’ll get the exact location unless there’s a last-minute change.

Best regards, Mireille

Hi there,

After arriving at Christopher Columbus with the city bus, you can travel by metro, which lets you visit several parts of the city more quickly.

We always get the 10-trip metro card that can be used by multiple people.

Single-trip card

2.15 € Available at all Barcelona metro ticket machines, as well as TMB information points, this single-person card is only valid for one metro trip.

T-10, the 10-trip card

9.95 € Valid for 10 trips, this card isn’t personal and can be shared among several people. Each trip gives you access to Barcelona’s public transport for 75 minutes from validation. This card is also available at all Barcelona metro ticket machines.

Hi Joseph, There are two hop-on hop-off bus routes. Avoid the Parc Güell stop—it’s really far from the park—and watch out for the lines to get back on the bus at Sagrada Família and Plaça de Catalunya.

yes, you need to take the shuttle at the boat exit that will take you to Plaça Drassanes near La Rambla

Replying 10 years later isn’t great🙂
