Hi everyone!
I just got notified of a short-stay visa refusal for Greece, with the reason being that the purpose and conditions of my stay weren’t sufficiently justified. Yet I included in my application an explanatory letter, paid round-trip flight and hotel reservations, a paid ticket for my visits, and travel insurance—all matching the duration of my stay. I’m really puzzled by this decision and feel it’s unfair. Could anyone here shed some light on what might have gone wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards,

Hi there. I had a simple question, please? My 10-year-old son’s French passport expired a month ago, and I just realized it. We’re supposed to leave for Morocco by car on June 30th, taking the ferry from Algeciras. I applied for his passport renewal today, but it won’t be ready for at least 2 months.
Can he enter Morocco with his expired passport? For the return trip, I’ll already have his valid passport.
Thanks for your help—I’m really in a bind here.

Hi fellow travelers!
I’m planning a backpacking trip to the USA for autumn 2024.
I’ve already been to New York in February 2024, but my ESTA expires on September 27, 2025. However, I’d like to leave in early September. Is it possible to apply for a new ESTA before my trip so that the new one is valid instead of the old one when I’m there?
Thanks for your help! Antoine

Hi there,
I’m not sure what’s being said on the various European diplomatic sites, but on the Belgian one, they mention that an ESTA and/or visa aren’t a guarantee of entry. Immigration services have the final say—they could even ask to see your electronic devices like phones, tablets, or cameras. And there might be extra hassles for LGBTQIA+ travelers.

Hi everyone,
I’m finally heading to Mongolia for two months this August and September. Do you know the procedure for applying for a visa, since I’ll be there for more than 30 days? Looking forward to your tips! Thanks! !

Hi there.
I’m reaching out to ask for your advice about travel insurance for my trip.
I bought Eurostar tickets back in January, but I forgot to take out travel insurance right away.
I’d like to get multi-risk travel insurance now, but most insurers say you have to sign up within 48 to 72 hours after buying your transport tickets.
Do you know of any insurance that doesn’t have this deadline and lets you sign up even months after buying your tickets?
Thanks so much for your help in advance.

Hi there, hope you're doing well! :)
I’m leaving from Bordeaux for Thailand this Tuesday and should land on Wednesday.
I wanted to ask about the TDAC—I don’t quite get it:
Do you have to do it a maximum of 3 days before departure or 3 days before arrival?
How long does it take to get the document, and what form does it come in?
I’m worried about messing this up—if you were arriving on Wednesday, when would you fill it out?
Thanks for your feedback!
Has it gone back to 30 days for visa exemption? Valid from when?
And is a flight ticket mandatory for leaving the country?
Thanks!
Hi,
I’m going to a youth association this summer. They’re asking for the passport number of each participant. Is this normal? Apparently, it’s for the authorities.
Thanks!
Mathieu

Hi everyone,
Have any travelers recently returned to Morocco via the border at Ceuta?
If so, how is the crossing at Moroccan customs going right now? Are there any products bought in Ceuta that are banned from import into Morocco?
Thanks for your replies!
Hope you had a great holiday
Hi there,
I’m filling out my South Africa entry declaration and just found out it costs $53.
We’ve traveled to South Africa regularly, the last trip was in 2024, and I’ve never paid anything to enter South African territory before.
Is this a new measure, or am I on a dodgy site?
Thanks for your replies!

Hi there,
The Netherlands is one of the countries that hasn’t officially taken a position on accepting French ID cards with extended validity (+5 years). However, it seems to be tolerated, and it’s recommended to carry the explanatory notice about the law that extended the validity of ID cards—especially in case of a police check during your stay in the Netherlands. The main concern seems to be about legal status in the country. Air France (apparently) indicates that boarding is possible. Has anyone had experience traveling by plane under these conditions, and can someone confirm whether it’s possible to visit the Netherlands (by plane with Air France) with an expired French ID card (based on the date printed on it) but with validity extended by 5 years? It’s hard to get a definitive answer, which is why I’m asking fellow travelers for their experiences :) Thanks in advance for your feedback! Audrey

Hello,
We’re traveling as a family to China this summer, from late July to late August. However, my kids’ passports expire at the end of January 2026, which means they’ll have about 5 months of validity left after our departure. Many travel agencies recommend having more than 6 months of validity! I haven’t found any official information about this requirement. As a precaution, the best thing would be to renew them, but before I realized this, I bought domestic flight tickets using their current passport numbers. I’m worried these tickets might no longer be valid...
Thanks for your help if you have any info on this topic.
Hi,
We're heading to Germany in August. Finally, after all this time I wanted to go back to Germany :)
I think I need an eco sticker for my car, but I'm not sure.
I found this info:
"Since June 1, 2022, it’s no longer necessary to buy the German eco sticker to drive in Freiburg-im-Breisgau’s Umweltzonen (low-emission zones).
The Crit'Air sticker, rated from 0 to 3, is recognized by the authorities."
Could you tell me the name of the website where I can find this info, please?
We’ll be staying in Brigachtal (Baden-Württemberg). We’ll visit Friedrichshafen, Triberg, and Hohenzollern Castle.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)
Heads up for anyone planning to cross the Mauritanian border at Guerguerat! From now on, the Mauritanian visa is only available via E-VISA on the internet, and processing times can be long—sometimes very long—and unpredictable.

Hello everyone,
My partner and I would like to travel to the Philippines at the end of August for a 4-month stay. We can’t apply for a tourist visa in advance because (from what I understand) we’d need to provide proof of hotel reservations for the entire stay. But planning a 4-month trip so far ahead isn’t something we want to do.
So my question is about extensions once we’re there:
After the initial 29-day extension request, we’d like to apply for another 2-month extension. Do you know if the same supporting documents are required for this one (pre-booked hotel, 2000 € in the bank account per month requested)?
Or can we go ahead without risk and request the extension without these documents?
Thank you so much for reading, and for this forum existing. Take care,
Boris

Hi everyone,
I visited Thailand as a French tourist for a month without a visa, and this country is amazing. I’d like to move there for a long time to start with, and permanently if everything goes well. I’m disabled, recognized at 80% by the MDPH with a maximum pension of 1,100 € per month. I’m not in a wheelchair—I should mention I have one completely paralyzed arm—and I’ll be turning 51. My question is:
What visa could I get for my expatriation?
Thanks to everyone for your future advice!
Hello,
We’re leaving in November 2025 for a stay of more than 60 days in Khao Lak and need to apply for a 30-day extension on-site to be allowed to stay nearly 90 days. Should we declare the flight ticket dates (November 13, 2025, to February 9, 2026) directly on the electronic form (if it’s applied from May 1st) before leaving, at the risk of being denied entry (over 60 days), or declare 60 days and quickly apply for a 30-day extension once there? Are flight tickets checked upon arrival (Phuket) or earlier on the electronic entry request? I remember that the arrival check is quite "serious" and after 18 hours of travel, you’re pretty impressionable! Thanks for your help, Best, Bruno.

Hi,
I submitted a passport application that has been under review for 23 days now.
The prefecture in question published a document today stating: "On Monday, April 28, 2025, the CNI-Passport Expertise and Resource Centers of the Loire and Haute-Loire will process applications submitted at town halls on April 9, 2025. The average time to make documents available at town halls is: - 21 days for CNI and - 21 days for passports. This breaks down as follows: • CERT processing time: 13 days for CNI and passports. • Average time for manufacturing, packaging, and shipping: 8 days for CNI and passports."
The issue is that I submitted my application at the town hall on April 5, and I still see it as "under review" on the ANTS tracking. Does the ANTS tracking actually update between the "under review" and "production" stages? Or is the tracking not really updated in practice between these two steps?

Hi fellow travelers!
I’ve been reading so much conflicting info—I’m totally lost.
I’m planning a nearly 4-week trip (25 days) in Indonesia. I’ll arrive in Denpasar, then travel around (Bali + some islands). We’ll leave with layovers in Jakarta (1 day + 1 night) and Kuala Lumpur (2 days + 2 nights).
My question is: is a B1 visa enough? It says "single entry" on it. Does that mean just one entry into Bali, or can I also pass through Jakarta with it?
Can anyone clarify this for me, please? THANKS
Hi, I’m planning to arrive by plane in Johannesburg and cross the Mozambique land border. For a trip of less than 30 days, do I need a visa? If so, how much does it cost? And can I get it at the border?
There’s conflicting info online.
Hi, I have to leave for Bali and I’ve got a problem. We’re traveling as a family, but when my partner filled out our daughter’s ticket, they only put one last name, even though she has both—mine and her dad’s—on her passport. I tried to fix it to make sure everything’s correct, but the airline won’t do anything about it. Do you think this will be an issue at boarding?
Hi,
I got my ESTA document 15 days ago.
I got married this weekend.
Can I book my flight ticket under my maiden name
-so it matches my ESTA and passport, which won’t be updated
for a trip in August?
Thanks for your replies!
Hi there,
I’d like to visit North Korea after the summer, coming from China.
After watching a few videos, I’ve got some doubts and was hoping for some firsthand experiences:
- Do they really confiscate passports on arrival? - Do they also keep our phones?
And about medications—are there any limits? Do we need documentation or special precautions? Is there a risk they might be confiscated on arrival? (This treatment is vital for me.)
Thanks in advance for your help! !

Hello,
We’re French nationals planning a tourist trip to Asia with the following itinerary:
First entry into Thailand from Paris: 3 days in Bangkok (visa exemption).
Departure to Cambodia (we have a Cambodia e-visa) then to Laos (we have a Laos e-visa) for 5 days in each country, totaling 10 days outside Thailand.
Second entry into Thailand from Laos: 8 days in Chiang Mai (visa exemption) before returning to Paris.
This means two entries into Thailand in less than a month, with a total stay of 11 days in the country.
**Can you confirm if we can do this trip under the visa exemption policy, or do we need to apply for a double-entry tourist visa?**
Thanks for your help!

Hi, we’re heading to Laos for 3 weeks from December 12 to January 1, 2025. We land in Bangkok. We’d like to know if we need a visa for a very short stay in Thailand since we’ll just be passing through. I read that since July 2024, a visa isn’t required for stays under 30 days. Is that correct?
Thanks for your help! Elise

Hi,
Has anyone used the online visa application site for Indonesia recently? https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/
For the past two weeks, I haven’t been able to log in... Wondering if the site is still up and running...
Thanks for your feedback!
