Overview

Hotels of all kinds

Bordeaux has over a hundred hotels, many located in the city centre or near Saint-Jean station. For smaller budgets, it's possible to find double rooms for around 30 €/40.

Like almost every city these days, Bordeaux also has several chain hotels (Ibis, Formule 1, Campanile, etc.) on its outskirts. They’re easy to find as they’re located near the ring road exits. While the service is very limited and everything is overly standardised, these hotels can still be a good option or offer reasonably priced accommodation for those who don’t mind the impersonal feel.

There’s also a youth hostel in Bordeaux. It’s located at 22 Cours Barbey, not far from the station.

Camping

There are two campsites in the Bordeaux area, both accessible by public transport.

The Bordeaux-Lac campsite (4*) is located to the north, in the town of Bruges, and has around 200 pitches. It’s the newest, largest, and best-equipped. Meanwhile, Camping Beausoleil (2*) is to the south in the town of Gradignan and has only about thirty spaces.
