Accommodation in Dominica
FR

Overview of the Offer

Although Dominica doesn’t attract as many visitors as other destinations in the region, its accommodation capacity isn’t huge—especially during high season or Carnival, when it’s wise to book ahead. You’ll find hotels, particularly some of a certain standard on the west coast, guesthouses, B&Bs, rental apartments and villas, as well as lodges or eco-lodges tucked away in nature. However, there’s no camping, and wild camping is actually prohibited.

When it comes to prices, while they don’t reach the heights of other Caribbean spots, accommodation still requires a modest budget, which increases by 15–20% in high season. As a general rule, always clarify whether the listed rates include taxes and breakfast. As with many small islands, the best approach is to pick a single base for your entire stay.

Hotels

Not very numerous and not particularly budget-friendly, hotels are mainly found along the coast, primarily from Roseau to Portsmouth. There aren’t many options under $100 US per night.

Guesthouses

More affordable than hotels, these small establishments start at around $30–40 US for a double room—though comfort levels can vary. Many allow you to cook your own meals.
