Overview of the options
Apart from the capital Malé, where several hotels and guesthouses can be found, it is not permitted to visit the inhabited islands of the archipelago. You therefore stay exclusively on "resort islands" with no population other than the staff of the resorts, which are the only type of accommodation available on site. Note that, especially if you are a diving enthusiast, you can also choose an inter-island cruise formula with nights on board.
