Accommodation in Trinidad and Tobago
Location Map of Trinidad and Tobago
Overview of the offer
The archipelago has a good range of accommodation, though it can still prove insufficient during Carnival season, when it’s best to book well in advance. It’s also during this time of year—and more broadly during the dry season—that prices rise. While Trinidad offers a wide selection, upscale or all-inclusive lodging is mostly found on the island of Tobago (primarily along its southwest coast), which has traditionally been far more tourist-oriented than its neighbor.
Hotels of all kinds
One advantage of the destination is that, when it comes to hotels, you can find everything from luxury options to family-run guesthouses at much more affordable rates. This is true on Trinidad but especially on Tobago. Budget around $30–40 USD for a double in a guesthouse, though keep in mind that prices increase by 25–30% during Carnival and more broadly in high season (early in the year). As expected, it’s wise to book your room in advance during Carnival.
All-inclusive
There’s an all-inclusive sector concentrated primarily on Southwest Coast of Tobago, around Pigeon Point and Crown Point. The clientele here tends to be North American or English-speaking.
