According to many, after a round-the-world trip, readjustment is often necessary. If only because, while you’ve experienced so much, you often feel that during your absence, back home and among those around you, "nothing has really changed." What’s more, you’re disconnected from the world you left behind several months ago and need to gradually reacquaint yourself with it.

Of course, you can go back to work or look for a job, but before diving back in, it’ll often take a month or two. In fact, it might be helpful to take a few more days off at home before getting back into the swing of things. And having some money left upon return will make "reintegration" that much easier.

Meanwhile, many long-term travellers say such an experience changes you. Or at least changes how you see the world around you and helps put many things into perspective. In short, if you’ve discovered the world, you’ve often (re)discovered yourself...
