Bahamas Climate and Weather
Location Map of Bahamas
Climate Overview
Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the Bahamas enjoys consistently pleasant weather, with a gentle breeze keeping temperatures between 24 and 31°C year-round. The coolest months are December to February, particularly in the northern islands. However, rain showers are frequent across the archipelago (especially in summer) but are usually short-lived, occurring in the late afternoon or at night. As for hurricanes, which mostly occur in September–October, they rarely reach the Bahamas, especially the northernmost islands.
Best Time to Visit the Bahamas
Since the climate remains fairly stable, there’s no sharply defined best season for visiting, unlike other Caribbean islands. The main weather inconveniences are slightly cooler temperatures in December–February, heavier rainfall from June to October, and the hurricane season in September–October. Overall, March–May or November are ideal, though the rest of the year still offers relatively minor climate challenges compared to many other destinations.
