Religion

As with their American neighbours, religion—particularly Puritanism—is very present in the Bahamas and is an integral part of local life and culture. 70% of the population is Protestant (notably Baptist), 12% Catholic, and 13% belong to various other Christian movements. Churches (of different denominations) can be found in every village across the archipelago, to the point that the Bahamas may have the highest number of churches per capita in the world.
