Climate and Weather in Cuba
Climate Overview
Cuba has a tropical climate with a dry season roughly from November to May and a wet season for the rest of the year, with a slight lull in July. During the wet season, the atmosphere is humid despite the trade winds, showers are heavy and frequent—especially in the late afternoon—but short-lived. The north/northeast coast is the wettest.
June to November is also hurricane season, which tends to be less severe than in many other islands in the region, particularly in September and October. In recent years, the Cuban government has implemented a robust prevention and public information system.
Best Time to Visit Cuba Climatically
The dry season remains the best time to visit, with pleasant temperatures—even slightly cool in the evenings or at higher altitudes—and little to no rain. That said, the climate isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker for visiting Cuba.
