Dominica: Climate and Weather
FR

Climate Overview

Dominica has a tropical climate characterized by year-round temperatures ranging from 29 to 32°C during the day and 20 to 23°C at night, though it gets cooler as you climb into the interior.

Like the rest of the Antilles, the island has two distinct seasons with brief "intermediate" periods. The dry season runs from February to late May. This is the most pleasant time to visit, with good weather and just a few occasional showers. In contrast, the wet season, from late July to October, brings heavier heat and frequent afternoon rains, which fall more heavily on the east coast and in the highlands. This is the least favorable time to visit, especially since it’s also hurricane season, with storms most likely to hit the island between August and October.

Best Time to Visit Dominica

The period from February to early May is ideal if you want to avoid too much rain, the occasional mugginess, or hurricanes that can reach the island.
