For French Citizens
A passport valid for at least 6 months after the planned departure date, a return or onward ticket, and a yellow fever vaccination are required to enter Benin. Additionally, a visa must be obtained before arrival if staying longer than one week. This visa allows a maximum stay of 30 days and costs 50 €. Note that since 2018, an e-visa option has also been available.
Obtaining a visa on arrival is still possible at Cotonou Airport and major land border crossings. However, this visa only permits a maximum stay of 8 days in Benin.
