Entry Requirements and Visa for Cambodia
Location Map of Cambodia
People
For French Citizens
For tourist travel, a passport valid for at least 6 months after the planned departure date and a visa are required. The visa can be obtained from Cambodian consular representations abroad, online as an e-visa (the best option), or on arrival at international airports and main border crossings, where payment must be made in cash and in dollars. Otherwise, the Cambodian visa costs the equivalent of $30 USD and grants a 30-day stay.
Additionally, the "Cambodia e-Arrival" form must now be completed online via the official site or the Cambodia e-Arrival mobile app. Free of charge, it must be submitted within 7 days prior to arrival and provides a QR code to present to authorities upon entry.
Other Nationalities
The same requirements apply to Canadians, Swiss citizens, EU nationals, and several other nationalities.
Long Stays
If you wish to stay in Cambodia for more than 30 days, it is possible to extend your visa for an additional month at the immigration services in Phnom Penh. However, this can only be done once.
For longer stays, you will need to apply for a resident, business, or retirement visa, provided you first obtained an "ordinary" E-type visa ($35 USD) and not a "tourist" T-type visa, which does not allow such procedures.
In Case of Violation
If you overstay your permitted duration, a penalty of $10 USD per day is applied and must be paid upon departure. However, if the overstay extends to several months, deportation proceedings are typically initiated, including fines and detention until the process is completed.
