A passport valid for at least 6 months after the planned arrival date and a visa are mandatory. The latter can be obtained directly for 70 € from Myanmar diplomatic missions abroad or online (e-visa) within three days via the approved site. In all cases, the visa is valid for a maximum stay of 28 days in the country.
Note that for online applications, the visa is issued upon arrival in the country—but only, and obligatorily, by air. For land arrivals, the other visa option is required. As for the cost of the (non-electronic) visa, it is generally slightly cheaper when obtained in neighboring countries, particularly in Bangkok.
