Entry Requirements and Visa for Singapore
Location Map of Singapore
People
For French Citizens
For tourist travel, no visa is required for stays of less than 90 days. A passport valid for at least 6 months after the planned arrival date is simply necessary, along with an onward or return ticket. Additionally, an "SG Arrival Card" must now be completed (free of charge) online on a dedicated site at least 3 days before arrival. This card collects the usual information requested from visitors.
Other Nationalities
The same applies to Canadians, Swiss nationals, citizens of the European Union, and a few other nationalities.
Long Stays
If you wish to stay in Singapore as a tourist for longer than the permitted 3 months, you can apply for a stay extension with the authorities, potentially gaining an additional one to three months. Alternatively, there is the "visa run", which involves leaving the country—often to neighboring Malaysia—before returning to benefit from another 90 days. While this practice is tolerated, it is becoming increasingly "risky" due to heightened customs checks for those planning long stays.
In Case of Violation
As expected, given the country's strict policies, any violation or unauthorized overstay may result in fines, deportation, or even detention if matters escalate during inspections.
