Entry Requirements and Visa for the Bahamas
Location Map of Bahamas
Travelers
For tourist travel.
For French Citizens
For stays of less than 3 months, a passport valid for six months beyond the stay is required. A return or onward ticket is also theoretically mandatory.
In the case of air transit through the United States, which is quite common when traveling there, you must also comply with U.S. entry requirements.
Other Nationalities
For citizens of the European Union, Switzerland, and Canada, a passport valid for 3 or 6 months (depending on the case) after the planned departure date is sufficient, along with a return or onward ticket.
Unlike some islands that grant a "special status" (with visa exemptions for everyone) to cruise passengers regardless of nationality, the Bahamas apply the same entry requirements for all modes of transport used to reach their islands. In short, if someone needs a visa, it will be required whether they arrive by plane or cruise ship.
