For French Citizens

Passport valid for at least six months after the entry date + visa. This is obtained from the country's consular representations abroad upon presentation of an invitation issued by the State Migration Service at the request of the "inviter," which can be a travel agency, an individual, or a company. Note that obtaining this invitation can take several weeks. In theory, with this invitation letter, it is also possible to get a visa directly upon arrival at the airport or at the port of Turkmenbashi (on the Caspian Sea).

This is a required step for any foreign visitor staying more than 3 days in the country.

Restricted Zones

Access to all border areas and the Dashoguz region (in the north) is regulated. This requires obtaining a special permit, which can be requested through a travel agency or, if traveling independently, when applying for a visa or from the Immigration Services once in the country.
