Western Europe
No entry requirements for French citizens and other European Union nationals.
Eastern Europe (outside the European Union)
Generally no visa is required for stays of up to 3 months, except for Belarus, though there are exemptions for EU nationals under certain conditions.
For Russia (both eastern and western parts), a visa, invitation, insurance, and registration upon arrival are required (except in transit cases where only a visa is needed, or for stays of less than 72 hours).
