Flying to Haiti
FR

Overview

In addition to a few airfields, Haiti has around half a dozen airports with regular commercial traffic. As you’d expect, Cap-Haïtien and especially Port-au-Prince handle the most domestic and international traffic (1.5 million passengers a year for Port-au-Prince). The others are limited to connections with the capital.

Note that even if it means extra transport and time, the airports in neighbouring Dominican Republic can also be an alternative for entering the country.

Types of flights

Local airlines

Haiti has three small airlines of its own, all based at Toussaint Louverture Airport in Port-au-Prince.

  • Sunrise Airways: founded in 2010, it operates flights between Port-au-Prince and Cap-Haïtien, Santo Domingo, and Santiago de Cuba, plus occasional charters in the region.
  • Tortug'Air: more or less the national airline. It handles domestic routes from the capital, plus Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
