Flying to Senegal
General information
When it comes to air travel, Dakar, with its new airport (Blaise Diagne) inaugurated in 2017, is the country's only—or nearly only—international gateway. Indeed, Cap Skirring, Ziguinchor, and Saint-Louis currently only handle a few occasional special flights from Europe. So, the capital is where it all happens.
From France and the rest of Europe
Traditionally, Senegal is directly accessible from several European cities or countries, including Brussels, Spain, Portugal, and Italy. But above all, France remains by far the best-connected European country. You can fly to/from Paris with Air France and Air Sénégal, plus year-round or seasonally from 7 provincial cities.
From the rest of Africa and beyond
Generally, Dakar is well connected to the rest of the continent, with around a dozen African airlines operating there. As for other destinations, Dubai, Istanbul, New York, and Montreal (seasonally with Air Transat) also have regular flights.
