Although the U.S. Virgin Islands are not a U.S. state (but a "territory"), the same legislation on entry requirements as for the United States applies. This notably includes a passport + ESTA form for French and other European travelers for stays under 90 days. For Canadians, the passport must be valid for the entire duration of the stay.
