Getting to Central Mexico
Location Map of Central Mexico
By Air
Whether coming from Europe, North America, or other parts of the country, the vast majority of visitors logically arrive in the region via Mexico City. Since the capital is also fairly central, it’s worth taking advantage of this. However, beyond the capital, a few other cities may occasionally be useful depending on your itinerary. For example, if you’re focusing solely on the Pacific coast, most resorts have a fairly good air network. Otherwise, Guadalajara as well, thanks to its proximity to the capital and the presence of low-cost airlines, Toluca can also be options.
By Land
Naturally, there’s no difficulty in reaching central Mexico by bus or personal vehicle from other parts of the country.
By Sea
Arriving by sea is primarily an option for cruise travelers. Many U.S. cruise ships call at Pacific-side resorts in the Mexican Riviera, particularly Acapulco or Puerto Vallarta.
