Ferries
Apart from internal routes, Guadeloupe is served by two ferry companies that allow you to reach three other islands: Dominica, Martinique, and Saint Lucia. Note: the Martinique-Guadeloupe route takes between 3 and 4 hours.
- L'Express des Iles: This is the "historic" company that has been operating in the region for around 30 years, holding a monopoly on certain routes. Its lines follow the St Lucia - Martinique - Dominica - Guadeloupe axis, offering various combinations between these islands at 80 € one way or 120 € round trip.
- Jeans for Freedom: A recent low-cost competitor to L'Express, serving the French islands. The Guadeloupe-Martinique route costs 80 €.
Cargo
The Antilles are a "classic" for Atlantic crossings by cargo ship. You can easily find opportunities between mainland France (including Le Havre) and Guadeloupe.
Cruises
The Caribbean is the world's top region for cruises, and nearly every island is included in the itineraries of numerous providers. You’ll find plenty of options, typically lasting 7 to 10 days, with departures or stopovers in Guadeloupe, which now welcomes over 225,000 cruise passengers each year from around 80 cruise ships.
Sailboats
Guadeloupe attracts many sailors, especially from November to May, arriving from Europe but also from the rest of the Caribbean.
