Packing and equipment to bring

Lesotho is a mountainous country with a changeable climate, where the altitude never drops below 1,400 m. It’s wise to pack accordingly, especially when heading higher. During the southern summer, days can be warm and require only light clothing, but nights remain cool, so you’ll need to dress warmly. In winter, with its low temperatures, freezing nights, and snow in many parts of the country, very warm clothing is essential. Also pack rain protection for the season and sturdy shoes for hiking.

Time difference

Local time: Heure : 6334.

Lesotho shares the same time as its South African neighbour and is on UTC+2 year-round. This means there’s a one-hour difference with France in winter and no difference in summer.

Electricity

220 V (50 Hz) with specific three large round-pin plugs (officially type M). This was once the British standard. In any case, they require an adapter for US or UK plugs, and optionally for French plugs if you "want to do it properly."
