Health and Safety in Finland

Official Recommendations

In France, both for individuals and professionals, the "travel advice" from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding precautions for each country has legal value. A similar online travel advice system exists in several countries:

Health

No vaccinations are mandatory to enter the country, though it is still advisable to be up to date with your "basic vaccinations."

Illnesses and Hygiene

Nothing particular to report.

Local Healthcare Facilities

Local healthcare facilities are excellent. For medical care, nationals of European Economic Area countries must present their European Health Insurance Card (formerly E-111 form), which guarantees the same rights to everyone—otherwise, they will have to pay for their medical expenses. Other visitors must rely on their insurance or pay the full cost of care.

Safety

Crime and Delinquency

Crime is relatively low in the country, but it is always wise to remain vigilant.

Scams and "Tourist" Harassment

Socio-Political Risks

Very few risks, though the country experienced its first terrorist attack in Turku in 2017.

Climate, Nature, and Wildlife

Foreign Consulates in Finland

If you encounter problems while traveling abroad, your country’s consular services can assist you. Additionally, if you are a European Union national and your country is not represented, you may contact any other EU member state’s representation.
