Borders

Germany (704 km), Austria (402 km), Poland (796 km) and Slovakia (241 km).

All neighbouring countries have several border crossings that officially operate without any checks since they are all members of the Schengen Area. Many buses and trains connect with each, particularly from Prague.

From France and Other Countries

Car

Prague is barely 1,000 km from Paris (and 500 or 600 km if you're in eastern France). So, unless you're only planning to stay in the capital, why not consider a trip with your own vehicle?

Bus

This is another possible option, especially with the company Eurolines, whose pass also covers the Czech Republic. Expect to pay roughly a hundred euros for a round trip (which is barely cheaper than flying in many cases) for around twelve hours on the road between, for example, Paris and Prague.

Train

The Czech Republic has almost 10,000 km of railway tracks and is well connected to its neighbours in this regard. However, from France, the train remains expensive compared to other means of transport, except perhaps within the framework of the InterRail pass.
