Nature and Adventure

While not always the most spectacular, despite the presence of imposing volcanoes and high plateaus, the landscapes of the region remain pleasant, especially in the mountainous central part of the country.

Culture

The Mexico region is rich in cultural heritage, if only because it is home to 22 of the country's 34 UNESCO World Heritage sites. Although fewer than in the Yucatan, there are also several remarkable pre-Columbian sites here, foremost among them Teotihuacan and El Tajin. But it is above all the magnificent colonial architectural legacy of this part of the country that draws attention, with cities like Guanajuato, Morelia, Puebla, Querétaro, and many others. In short, with the addition of numerous museums of all kinds, there is more than enough to delight culture enthusiasts.

Relaxation and Holidays

Beach relaxation and holiday tourism is one of the region's two strong points, alongside its colonial past. The Mexican Riviera (Puerto Vallarta, Huatulco, Acapulco, etc.) dominates the mainstream offering, though a few other options also exist elsewhere along the Caribbean coast.
