Beaches and Seaside Resorts

With its kilometres of coastline and hundreds of islands, Croatia is very well endowed when it comes to seaside destinations. The country has dozens of resorts, ranging from more or less upscale or renowned, where visitors come to enjoy the (rare) sandy beaches and, above all, the many pebble beaches and coves (watch out for sea urchins and bring appropriate footwear for swimming), a range of water activities, or, for some, simply to party. Truly for all tastes, even if almost everywhere is crowded during the summer months.
Water Activities
Sea fishing:
Diving: This is a well-developed activity along the entire coastline. Clear, warm waters almost year-round, marine caves, interesting wildlife, and quite a few wrecks from antiquity as well as more recent wars are all reasons to attract visitors. Note that a "diving permit" (costing around 15 €) is required to practice.

Thalassotherapy and Wellness
Hiking

Hiking
While not always "unforgettable," hiking opportunities are quite numerous in Croatia. Starting with the various national parks (Biokovo, Risnjak, Plitvice, Sjeverni Velebit...), in Istria, which is that peninsula on the northern coast appreciated for its landscapes and small villages, the islands (Brač, Cres...), or even in the Pelješac Peninsula near the city of Dubrovnik.

Golf
Croatia is not very well equipped with public golf courses (especially 18-hole ones), though the activity is gradually developing, particularly along the coast.
Whitewater Activities
There are several spots ideal for whitewater activities. In the south, on the Dalmatian coast, the Bijakova Nature Park and its region offer opportunities for canyoning, rafting, or kayaking on the Cetina River. Also, the Zrmanja Canyon, near Zadar, is renowned for its rafting and canoeing possibilities.

Paragliding and aerial sports:
Skiing: It’s around Zagreb, less than an hour away, that you’ll find the winter sports resorts of Bjelolasica and Medvednica. Another resort, Platak, is located about thirty kilometres north of Rijeka, with views of the surrounding islands.
