Beaches and Seaside Resorts

Although the destination is still relatively unknown in France, the (very beautiful) beaches and seaside resorts of the Republic of Cyprus are numerous and renowned. They have long been the country’s major tourist attraction. In short, there’s plenty of choice to delight beach lovers, though it’s true that July and August draw large crowds.
Among the main resorts popular with visitors are Ayia Napa and Protaras (known for their nightlife, which attracts a young, trendy crowd), as well as the areas around the towns of Larnaca, Limassol, and especially Paphos, a major tourism hub in Cyprus.

Hiking Trails

Two regions dominate the hiking trails. The first is the Akamas Peninsula (in the west), a national park, and especially the Troodos Mountains. The latter, besides offering stunning landscapes, is home to charming villages (Kakopetria, Omodos, Platres...) as well as numerous monasteries and churches, some of which are UNESCO-listed.
